141: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction in Midlife with Erica Ziel

  • サマリー

  • We used to laugh at our mothers when they’d sneeze and pee their pants. I mean, who does that?! Turns out, the jokes on us. So we’re told, if you don’t want to pee your pants, do your kegels. But is that advice helpful, or harmful?

As we age into our 40’s, 50’s, and beyond, incontinence is one of those annoying things that we seem to accept as a normal part of aging and then laugh about. But contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to suffer.

On today’s episode of Your Midlife Comeback Story, we’ll answer the question… how does your pelvic floor affect your bladder health, and how does it impact the other functions of your body?

    Together, we will unpack:

    • How does your pelvic floor not just affect your bladder health, but many other functions of your body, as well?
    • What exactly is your pelvic floor?
    • What are the symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction?
    • Are Kegels helpful or harmful?
    • What are some simple exercises you can do to improve the health of your pelvic floor?
