Born in Baskinta, Khattar grew up in a family rich in values and relationships, but his life took a turn when he lost his father at the age of eight.
Despite this early loss, he inherited a vast network of friendships, most notably his close bond with President Camille Chamoun, who became a mentor and father figure, instilling in him principles that shaped his life.
Khattar joined the Middle East Airlines in 1963, embarking on a remarkable career in aviation. From witnessing its golden era to standing by it through its toughest times, he played a pivotal role in the airline’s development, working in public relations and solidifying MEA’s presence on the international stage.
His journey took him to Geneva and London before he ultimately returned to Lebanon to continue his career and start a family. Having been kidnapped three times and shot twice, yet he never wavered in his commitment to Lebanon and its institutions.

أخذته رحلاته إلى جنيف ولندن قبل أن يعود إلى لبنان ليواصل مسيرته المهنية ويؤسس عائلته. تمّ اختطافه ثلاث مرات وأصيب برصاصتين، لكنه لم يتراجع أبداً في التزامه تجاه لبنان ومؤسساته.
