    Today’s episode is actually inspired by a couple of TikTok videos I’ve seen recently. It started off with a tall girl video-ing herself what text on the screen saying “me at work” or something of that sort. Then it cuts to screenshots of people (stock images of course) with things that these people in the workplace have said to her because she’s tall. So things like “Oh I wish I had your height” or “Why don’t you play basketball?” and so forth lol

    I thought it was funny; I thought it was a joke so I kept scrolling. Then I came across ANOTHER video of a tall girl talking about how she was in a meeting for work and that the person said “Oh, you’re taller than I expected”. And then I was like oh…so stuff like this happens for real lol?? Do people actually make comments about our height in professional settings?

    Now, the thing is I’m mainly remote. I’m a freelance marketer and I go into some type of office, professional setting like one day a week. And that’s only been happening for a few weeks. So I can’t really speak on the experiences of being a tall woman in the workplace. So I did what anyone else would do and took my inquiries to the Internet - aka Reddit and you guys lol.

    So I asked y’all on Instagram what your experiences have been like in the workplace as tall women. Because let’s face it, people say that tall people tend to be more successful in their careers, get paid more, etc. And by tall people, they mean tall men. Let’s find out if tall women’s experiences are the same or different. Tune into the full episode!

    One of the biggest struggles tall girls will ever face is fashion/clothing problems. Like we allllll know the struggle.

    It’s pretty normal for us to walk into a store and see a petite clothing section, a regular size clothing section, even a plus size section, but we’re like, where’s the tall section?? So that leads us to take our search online. Half the time major brands lie about selling tall clothing. They literally just slap an extra inch of fabric and call it tall without considering our proportions. Or if you’re anything like me, sometimes you find true tall clothing to be a little too tall :///

    Lol it’s like we can’t win.

    Or can we??

    Today, I’m partnering with Sumissura to see if it’s the solution to our tall girl problems. Sumissura is a custom clothing brand that uses a made-to-measure system to create garments that are unique to your body. They use several years of algorithm training to calculate measurements based on your height, weight, age, and body type.

    I went through the whole entire process from designing my garments down to the smallest details like the buttons to getting the clothes delivered to me and trying them on.

    Today, we are joined by a special guest – a fellow tall girl named Heidi!

    We are talking about all things tall from fashion to media representation and even societal norms. Let’s face it: as tall women, it can feel like the world is against us sometimes. Clothing brands rarely cater to us (although I will say that it’s gotten better in recent years!). We’re often depicted as villainous or masculine in the media. And people tend to make unwarranted comments and ask STOOPID questions regarding our height.

    And with most of the people around us being shorter than us, it’s easy to feel alone.
