This episode is all about ex's, tests, and disruptions. Quite fitting that Mercury is Retrograde while we record. Carrie and Miranda run into Aiden and Steve. Of course no one cares about Aidan because later that day Big calls and steals the show. Carrie agrees to meet him for lunch because he is sad boi after his divorce. When she tells Miranda they get into their first big fight, finally airing out a lot of their differences. Trey shows up to Charlotte's unannounced and they finally make love, probably for less than 5 minutes but a win is a win?

After a 10 minute catch up, we get into the episode. We discuss break ups, running into ex's, getting over relationships and how guys and girls differ, and the difference between feeling safe and being in love. A girl will settle for one, but we all deserve both! We talk about how to decipher what is a test and what is your intuition.

Season 3 Episode 17 is all about KARMA, a beloved topic/ obsession of ours. Everything we said about Carrie being noble last episode- SCRATCH it. She’s horrible in this one, HORRIBLE. She has a run in with Natasha that sends Carrie tumbling into a very unfortunate series of events. She relentlessly pursues false forgiveness and makes a fool of herself. Sprinkle in the karma- she gets robbed at gunpoint, which is a huge wakeup call (you’d think) because her priorities are completely out of whack. All she cares about is being “hated” not what she actually did to Natasha. The apology is empty and rooted in ego. Do better. (We still love you.)
Samantha does the deed with a virgin, big no no. Charlotte kisses the gardener, small no no. All is fair on old money property. Miranda is extremely insecure and ruins a potentially great relationship with a very attractive man who is super into her. Ay girls. Karma was served on a silver platter. See ya.

This is being released 2 weeks after we recorded, apologies but I absolutely ran my mouth on this one re- frenemies and I had to make sure I wouldn’t be crossing paths with said frenemy in Miami. Some tea is for the internet and some tea needs to be reserved for girls' night only. I’m still learning to discern! Edits have been made. Speaking of, this episode is allllllll about discernment. Did you guys know we almost named this podcast Hot Child in the City? This episode is everything and couldn’t have come at a better time because Sara JUST moved to New York! Alexa’s in her Carrie Bradshaw era and just wrapped up Issue 2 of the Miami Native. Your girls have been busy.

This episode is the original 13 going on 30 all about how when we’re young we just want to fast forward and then we reach what we think we wanted and all we want to do is rewind. Samantha is planning a party for a 13 year old mini Blair Waldorf and at first is super jealous of her but then comes to the realization that she had something the little brat never did, a childhood. Charlotte catches Trey in the bathroom doing the deed to himself flipping through a magazine called "jugs" (we get into that). Carrie is dating a guy who still lives with his parents leading to the most iconic scene ever “Yes Mrs. Adams, I brought the marijuana into the house — and I’m taking it with me when I go!” *cue hot child in the city song*

Alexa is back in Miami after 5 months and SARA HAS A BOYFRIEND. Ohio, if you remember from the summer, has materialized to be the real deal and she finally opens up about it.

Season 3 Episode 13 of Sex and the City is the first of the LA episodes. We have a legendary cameo from Matthew McConaughey, who insults and harasses Carrie who is desperately trying to escape the ghost of her past with Big. This episode is what our father would call a ~microwave mass~ a quickie if you will. Season 3 Episode 12 Don't Ask Don't Tell is about the web of lies everyone has entangled themselves in. Miranda is speed dating and telling men she's a flight attendant, Carrie is riddled with guilt from her affair with Big, and Charlotte is marrying a man that can't get it up. Remember when I said Charlotte was manifesting a wedding NOT a marriage?
She goes through with it knowing it's doomed because there's a room full of people and a Vera Wang gown on her body. Let's hope we make better choices in our 30s.

This week we talk cheating, divorce, unhinged women, childhood trauma, bridesmaids, girl groups and more. The ush. Alexa comes to some realizations on why she's so obsessed with shows of the early 2000s and alludes to the real reason she can't stand Aidan.
