Back to School Part 3: Upper Elementary Years

  • サマリー

  • In this episode, I have a conversation with Deborah Montgomery, a master teacher that instructs students that are in the second half of their elementary school years. The transition from lower elementary (K-2nd grade) to upper elementary (3rd-5th) is huge for both parents and students. Students are starting to take on more responsibility and parents move into providing a different type of support is an adjustment for everyone. Deborah shares powerful ideas on staying engaged with your student and creating partnerships with their teachers. Her observations about what changes in the student social environment were eye-opening for me, and I am sure that her insights will help other parents with students in this age group.

Upcoming episodes in this informative series include: conversations with middle and high school teachers, as well as a high school graduation coach and a panel discussion about how to best advocate for your child.
