  • Boomer and Gio Full Podcast September 20, 2024
    2024/09/20
Hour 1 The Jets beat the Patriots 24-3 and it was a vintage Aaron Rodgers performance. Now they get 10 days of rest after playing 3 games in 11 days. They are 2-1 after 3 games, exactly what we thought they would be. The Patriots were expected to be one of the worst teams in the league, as are the Broncos, who the Jets play next week. When Rodgers is behind center on third down, there is real confidence he will convert. We have not had that around here in a long time. Last night was everything we hoped it would be when the Jets went out and got Rodgers. We also talked about the awkward interaction between Rodgers and Saleh on the sideline when the Jets went up 14-0. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sweet sounds of the Jets beating the Patriots. Rodgers explained what he said to Saleh during their sideline exchange. The Mets scored 10 runs for the third straight game as they beat the Phillies with 4 homeruns. The Yankees lost in Seattle and Juan Soto ran into a wall but he stayed in the game. Shohei Ohtani hit 3 HRs, had 10 RBIs and stole 2 bases. Oh, he also is the first ever to join the 50/50 club. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer thinks there are more Cool Games than Al & Jerry picked on the Warm Up Show Hour 1 Single Topics Segment 1- Last night was vintage Aaron Rodgers and exactly what we were hoping for when he came to the Jets Segment 3- Boomer thinks there are more Cool Games than Al & Jerry picked on the Warm Up Show Hour 2 Aaron Rodgers put on a master class on how to play quarterback last night. He got everyone involved including tight ends, wide receivers and running backs. Someone sent a package to Gio for his dog, Elvis. It’s a giant rubber duck. We also took calls from very happy Jets fans, which sounded weird. Haven’t had that in a while. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Jets beating the Patriots. Rodgers said he heard the chants last night. The Mets beat the Phillies again, hitting four homeruns in the game. Brandon Nimmo loved the energy in the building. The Yankees lost in Seattle. Shohei Ohtani hit 3 home runs, went 6-for-6, had 10 RBIs and stole 2 bases to become the first in MLB history to join the 50/50 club. In the final segment of the hour, the Saints have been impressive the first two weeks of the season. We also talked about the Mets overachieving this season to the point that you can’t criticize how it ends. A caller wonders why the Giants can’t do what the Jets did last night, just ‘dink and dunk’ it. Hour 2 Single Topics Segment 1- Aaron Rodgers put on a master class on how to play quarterback last night Segment 3- Why can’t the Giants just do what the Jets did last night? Hour 3 The Giants will be front and center on Monday morning when we come in. Boomer said DeShaun Watson doesn’t like playing at home and went over a few issues with the Browns offense. The Cleveland defense has a really good pass rush and a really good secondary. If Daniel Jones doesn't turn the ball over, they can keep it close. Myles Garrett will play but he does have a foot injury. Jerry returns for an update, but first a caller just found out his dog has an inside out vagina and called Gio for advice. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Jets win against the Patriots. Jerry has audio of Nikki Glaser on the Thursday Night Football postgame show. They had her do a roast on the set and it was odd. In the final segment of the hour, Joel Embiid got a contract extension of $64 million a year. Hour 3 Single Topics Segment 1- Boomer breaks down what it will take for the Giants to keep the game close against the Browns Segment 3- Joel Embiid just got a crazy contract extension Hour 4 Boomer’s last sports minute had him putting Brian Daboll in ‘the pressure cooker’. Gio wonders who else Boomer put in there this week. He has a list. A caller wonders how much is Daboll’s fault and how much is just bad players. Jerry returns f ...
