  • Café Grit is where you come when you’ve got the hankering for purpose, a taste for fulfillment, and you’re tired of living the rat race.Maybe it's your corporate job and a dick of a boss. Maybe you're in your glory years and are looking to ignite that fire in your belly (and I don't mean a hot flash!). Maybe you've lost your mojo and want desperately to find it.Maybe you're living your best life and want to pay it forward because you’ve already dealt with the madness.Maybe you're just ready for some GRIT and some CHANGE.My name is Beth Anne Campbell and I am the host of the Café Grit podcast. I am a consultant project manager with over 20 years of experience in corporate life. I am also the author of "Where The Hell Is My Bacon?"I opened this group so women like myself can talk openly, authentically, honestly about finding fulfillment when it feels like there is none.As I start this effort, I have one foot in the corporate realm and one foot in my dream career. I'm entering my "glory years" and wondering what the f*ck is going on with my body and my brain. I long more and more each day to find purpose in life. I’m figuring it out right along with you. There will be swearing. There will be passion (and occasionally, anger). Maybe baby goats, bacon books, hoodies, and hats. I hope there is a lot of laughter. But don’t let all of that fool you. I am dead serious about finding what makes my heart sing. And I hope you are too.So...are you a badass even though sometimes you don't feel like one? Then come on into Café Grit...where the moxie is fresh, the passion cold-brewed, and everything is served with a heaping side of mojo.

  • Cafe Grit 072 Don't Forget Your Checkup
    2024/07/23

A friendly reminder to all the women out there with applicable body parts...get your regular doctor checkups!

My mother died when she was just 63 years old, from cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer can be very treatable with a very high survival rate if caught early.

My mother most definitely did not get hers caught early. She died 4 weeks after being diagnosed.

Likely she had been brewing this cancer for many years, ignoring symptoms, and probably in denial.

She may also have had anxiety about going to the gynecologist as many of us do.

In Episode 071 of the Cafe Grit podcast, I talk about my mom's experience and how I have tempered my "white coat anxiety" with mindset work.

When you're done watching or listening...go set up your yearly check up!

Thank you so much for checking out The Cafe Grit Podcast!

My name is Beth Anne Campbell...I am a career coach and author of "Where The Hell Is My Bacon?" and "From BLAH to BADASS - The No-Bullsh*t Guide To Channeling Your Leadership GRIT!"

My experiences from these books and over two decades in the corporate and consulting world inspired me to create the Café Grit podcast.

This is a place where we can have real conversations about finding your mojo, channeling your inner bad@ss, and claiming your voice in the world, whatever that means to you.

I'm still trying to figure out what makes my heart sing in life and career. If you are too, grab a cuppa moxie, and let's figure it out together. Here is how you can get in touch with me. I'd love to hear from you!

  • Cafe Grit 071 My Ideal Day Exercise
    2024/07/22

If you are doing any sort of mindset or manifestation work, doing an Ideal Day (or Dream Day) exercise might be just what you need.

Very simply, your Ideal Day is a detailed account of an average day in your life, as imagined after you have achieved your dreams.

It starts the minute you wake up in the morning and continues until you go to sleep at night, and includes as much detail as you can muster - what you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel (including emotional feels).

In this episode of Cafe Grit, I talk about the Ideal Day activity and give some tips on how to level up and incorporate your goals or building a new habit into the exercise.

  • Cafe Grit 070 In the GRIT Seat with author Mike Wesolowski (The Broken Spoke)
    2024/07/18

Please note, there is some high-level discussion about child abuse (including sexual abuse) in this episode.

The Broken Spoke is the true story of one man’s determination to confront his childhood demons and finally free himself from his past.

Mike Wesolowski grew up in a home filled with every type of pain. The only way he knew how to cope with the daily torture was through self-destructive behaviors, compartmentalization, and substance abuse.

After decades of coming to terms with the shame and guilt of what he endured, he was finally able to confront his past and conquer his addiction.

    Talk about GRIT! Wow.

His healing journey has been amazing and I--Beth Campbell--am proud to call him my uncle.

In episode 070 of the Cafe Grit Podcast, I sit down with Mike to talk about his book The Broken Spoke. His honesty, vulnerability, and authenticity will blow you away.

Please visit The Broken Spoke (book) Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thebrokenspokebook for updates.

Thank you Mike for opening up and being In The GRIT Seat!
