    We live in an age where wearing brands has become more popular than dressing decently does. As long as it is a popular brand, it doesn't matter if it is as revealing as it ought not to be, you'd see that some people wouldn't mind. But first these brands started off with creating something different from others; they carved a niche for themselves.

    Some individuals have become household names in their respective industries by the way they applied themselves to self development, and the things they did or said. That's what making a difference is all about. Thus, when you mention Michael Jordan, someone remembers basketball; for Tiger Woods, you remember golf; Mike Tyson, and boxing is mentioned. But when we call your name, what comes to people's mind?

    What are you known for? Can anyone put up a good word of recommendation for you? Do you have your Unique Selling Point (USP) that's not exactly like others? Do you have a style that stands you out and difficult to copy? Do you carry yourself with grace knowing who and whose you are or you don't care about excellence?

    I believe a well informed person would act differently from others. Having knowledge, skills and the right information stands you out, the same way the lack thereof makes you deformed and underperform. Lot and his daughters must have been properly instructed on God's stance on sexual purity that kept them different from the perverse people of Sodom. It calls to question your sources and the kind of information you feed your mind and spirit with.

    Are they the kind that propel you to positive action or they deflate your faith? Do you get nourished or malnourished by the kind of information available to you? You have a unique fingerprint, as well as the mind of Christ. Decide to explore these outstanding character traits to get the advantage over others.

    Paul says to come out from among them and be separate: separate from mediocrity, from negative stereotypes, from debased thinking. Build a different class structure for yourself. You can't afford to be like 'them' when you can be 'you.' You can't take on an identity that relegates you to the ground like a chicken when you should be soaring higher like an eagle. Be separate!

    The world appears to have lost its moral compass and the new slogan in town seem to be 'If it feels good, do it,' an illegitimate definition of fun. But in a world this crazy about self pleasuring, you can still stand out and be different. What separates you from others is your unique difference as against your similarity. Thus, we're told, "Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you" (2 Cor. 6:17)!

    In a world so perverse with sin, immorality and homosexuality as Sodom, where all the men in town came after two visiting men to sleep with them, Lot and his daughters stood out. Paul counsels, “Come out from among them and be separate" (2 Cor. 6: 17). Do not join the bandwagon of people you can't define their stand on issues; people who are not guided or bound by any principles.

    Come out of from people with a closed mind; from people with sound reasoning deficiency. Come out from amongst people whose lifestyle doesn't align with your purposes. Be the odd one out if the plan violates the principles of God's Word. Let them mock you, if they have to, but do not touch an unclean thing (2 Cor. 6: 17). These words should probe at your heart daily as you make choices and decisions.

    As we take on another instalment on this subject, I want to zero in on the phrase, 'the breath of the Almighty gives men understanding.' A translation says, the inspiration of the Almighty gives.. It suggests that a lack in inspiration equals a lack in whatever the Holy Spirit supplies. If your life is surrounded by lack, check the measure of inspiration you get daily. Many of us would rather check other indicators but would have nothing on the source of our inspiration.

    Divine inspiration is a function of your spiritual connectivity and receptibility. The cordiality and intimate posture of your relationship with God determines the frequency and quality of your inspiration. Your connectivity in the Spirit determines your receiving frequency. Inspiration is God's investments in human endeavours so one can produce great results. God doesn't waste resources. You won't always get inspiration if you do not make use of the ones He sends your way.

    Inspiration is the breath of God impacting the life of God into our affairs so that our affairs can take on a life of its own that is powered by the life of God. It is a way of connecting the life of God to flow into and give life to our endeavours so they can come alive. Inspiration impacts ideas and expands our horizon. It reveals our abilities and stretches our capacity. Inspiration is a faith booster, pathfinder and anchor when turbulence sets in. Inspiration lightens our path with the pathways of God. Hallelujah!

    When priorities are not set right, the tendency to concentrate or focus energy in the wrong pursuit is very high. In this regard, one could focus their energy on a vital force of the Spirit of intelligence and miss the very essence of the verse, which is, the breath of the Almighty giving men understanding. Understanding is the driving force behind impact; it guarantees results. Understanding delivers to us our operational manual and guides us on what to do.

    When the Holy Spirit breathes on you, His enabling power is released on you with a compelling force to produce results; all the resources of heaven gets deposited in you with given channels of expressions when you receive the breath of the Holy Spirit. The understanding that comes stems from knowledge that heaven backs you up to explore your world and produce results that glorify God. Understanding is your display of applied superior knowledge.

    If the breath of the Almighty gives men understanding. To do what? Understand God's will; to understand their purposes in life; to know how to navigate choices and engage the laws of life, etc. It's a shame that as basic as these things listed are, a lot of people have no idea how any of them works. They're alienated from God's plan for their lives which ought to define the rest of their lives, and because that is not known, all other areas are falling apart.

    There're several forces that exert on man for different reasons. Some, for direction, others for misdirection and another, for impact, whether positive or negative impact. Our focus today, is on gaining understanding for positive impact. There's a vital force of the Spirit of intelligence in man, but intelligence alone cannot give understanding. It takes the force of inspiration, that is, the breath of God to have understanding.

    There're so many intelligent people with shallow or no understanding in certain key areas of life. When interrogated or faced with a challenge in those areas, they fail woefully and fall flat. Where then does understanding come from? I'm glad you asked. Proverbs 2:6 tells us, "For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." God gives understanding so we can operate with maximum capacity, win in our endeavours, and bring Him glory with our winning ways.

    The breath of the Almighty is a difference maker in the theatre of performance-based results. When you're inspired by God, your faculties are enlarged and equipped to contain and operate at a higher capacity, your functionality is powered by the energy the inspiration brings. You're not mundane or remote in thought; you're not mediocre in execution, and you do not settle for less. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit makes you more resourceful and discerning. That's how winning is easily guaranteed.

    It is commonly said that when a miracle happens to someone close to you, yours is next because the miracle worker is in the vicinity. Since the Woman with the Issue of Blood snatched a miracle that wasn't prepared for her, the logic of the impossibility of another for Jairus's child sounded so invalid or unacceptable. The messengers sealed Jairus's child's fate. She had died, and that made it worse.

    Isaiah counsels us not to call conspiracy what the people call conspiracy (Isa. 8:12). The moment you allude to a thing, you ascribe legitimacy to it, giving it the power to act as named. Logic draws conclusions from inferences that may not always be true, but using the eyes of the Spirit, we see, weigh and judge things differently. It is against this backdrop that we must be weary of being manipulated into believing anything at the surface level. We must therefore switch to the frequency of the Spirit to test all things (1 John 4: 1).

    Jesus already assessed the situation and knew Jairus's daughter would live. Saying to him to only believe was to build faith and hope in Jairus. Some situations need your belief to change. Can you dare to believe against expert opinions or against the witnesses of people with firsthand experiences? Can you dare to assert that your case is different and victory is yours even in seemingly very hopeless situation? Can you dare to believe the Lord’s report to see his outstretched arms ((Isa. 53: 1)?

    When Logic Doesn't Add Up (Part 2)!

    Sometimes, the law requires antecedence to pass judgement and give effect to a cause of action. It was under this premise the centurion was told not to bother the Master anymore since the child in question was dead. But grace works differently; it takes up challenges or cases men have written off and work a miracle out of it; grace has inexhaustible latitudes that human limitations cannot fathom. Grace sometimes makes a mess of man's wisdom and philosophy to prove God's supremacy.

    Sometimes, you need to learn to be silent to distractions to your goals. Jairus never said a word to the men who came to tell him not to bother Jesus anymore. Your ability to discern noises or distractions and decisively take care of them points to your determination to get your answers in spite of the realities around. Learn to filter what you let access and mess up your minds. Not even all expert opinions count for you to progress in certain instances.

    Whenever you're faced with a dilemma where it appears all forms of logic doesn't add up, look out for this silent whisper that says, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Oh! Yes! It takes believing to conquer your worst fears; it takes believing to drown the voices of cynicism or mockery shouting at you and shutting your resolve for a miracle that only Jesus can give. Here's the thing, faith and logic doesn't mix well. If you want to be logical, be logical, and face all the limitations that come with it. If you want to apply faith, stay focused on Jesus and see how boundless your possibilities truly are!
