  • 123 | How to Overcome People Pleasing, Self Abandonment, and Good Girl Syndrome with Sara Fisk
    2024/11/21

In today’s episode, we talk about how to overcome people pleasing, self abandonment, and good girl syndrome. As women, we’re taught from a very young age that our value is found in what we do for others. We’re taught to give and to serve, self-sacrifice, and do it ALL with a smile on our face. We lack the inner knowing that ‘I am good’ is actually separate from WHAT we do - whether that’s in the home, in our career, at church, etc.

Sara Bybee Fisk is a Master Certified Coach and Instructor who has a passion for teaching and coaching. She teaches women how to tame the rampant people pleasing, perfectionism, and codependency that causes them so much frustration and resentment.

Sara understands that people pleasing really is the plague of womanhood, because it robbed her of time, energy, and effort for far too long. After growing up in a very conservative, religious environment, she found herself always looking for others’ approval, and questioning her worth. Sara eventually learned that yes, she was (and IS) ‘enough’, and she doesn’t need anyone’s stamp of approval to have a fulfilling and empowering life!

    In this episode, we cover:

    • Sara’s journey with people pleasing + how it led her to the work she does today
    • How the church & religion influences women + the way they show up in the world
    • What people pleasing looks like from a young age + what happens when it starts to feel like a burden
    • Why both people pleasing and not people pleasing is uncomfortable + how to process the discomfort that comes with not people pleasing
    • How to ‘find’ yourself again when you feel completely lost in motherhood
    • How to have those ‘tough’ conversations with those around you when you’re done with people pleasing
    • Redefining what it actually means for you to be a ‘good mom’
    • Internal Family Systems + how we can connect to this and move past people pleasing

  • 121 | Beyond the Badge: Embracing Seasons in a World Obsessed with Busy
    2024/11/07

In today’s episode, I want to talk about what it looks like ‘beyond the badge’, and embracing seasons in a world obsessed with busy. For me, I wore ‘busy’ like a badge of honor. I wanted to achieve every milestone, achievement, and check allll the boxes. Busy became my default answer, because when we’re busy, that means we’re successful..right?

Over the last couple of years, I’ve really leaned into the concept of ‘wintering’. While we seem to be adding more and more to our calendar, Nature is instead telling us to be still, turn inward, and do less. Whether we’re experiencing pregnancy, trying to navigate postpartum, transitioning our career, or some other kind of major life change, it’s VITAL that we slow down, and honor the season we’re in.

I want to encourage you to honor your natural energy, and be present with what’s right in front of you. When you’re able to know, love, and trust yourself just as you are, you’ll be able to come home to yourself, and truly thrive, regardless of the season you’re in.

    In this episode, I cover:

    • Turning to the ‘cyclical’ nature of the world and honoring the season you’re in
    • My story of wearing ‘busy’ like a badge of honor + how I’ve actively worked to change that over time
    • My journey through burnout + the unexpected blessings this led to
    • Choosing to truly slow down during life’s seasons + learning the art of ‘simplify to amplify’
    • Finding alignment in the life you want to create + focusing on being present, and coming home to yourself

  • 120 | Harnessing Your Human Design to Create Your Dream Life and True Alignment and Ease In Your Business with Leah McCloud
    2024/10/31

In today’s episode, Leah McCloud and I talk about harnessing your Human Design to create your dream life, true alignment, and ease in your business. Human Design is a self-awareness modality that shows you how energy works in your unique body, and how you can use (and optimize) that energy in your life. Leah dives into the 5 different Human Design types, as well as the 7 types of ‘authority’ pieces that go hand-in-hand with your intuition. Leah and I are both generators, and for me, my intuition comes through as a ‘gut’ feeling (aka sacral authority).

    • Understanding & using our human design effectively as entrepreneurs
    • The 5 different human design energy types
    • The ‘authority’ piece of human design + how this works with your intuition

  • 119 | How to Create Safety Within Yourself, Unpack Fear and Imposter Syndrome, and Tap into Your Unlimited Potential with Tracy Litt
    2024/10/24

I’m honored to be joined by my new friend, Tracy Litt, on the podcast today!

In today’s episode, we talk about how to create safety within yourself, unpack fear and imposter syndrome, and tap into your unlimited potential. Something that every single one of us has been affected by is FEAR. While we may think fear is a negative thing and we need to move away from it completely..that’s actually not true (nor is it possible to do). Fear is lovingly trying to keep us alive! Imposter syndrome (something else I’m sure you know about) tends to show up right along with fear..except it’s a ‘crutch’ that we fall back on all too easily.

Tracy and I also dug deep into emotional addictions, why it’s VITAL that we work to clear the ‘emotional congestion’ from our bodies, how our thoughts and our intuition vary, stepping into ‘feeling our feelings’, and more.

    In this episode, we cover:

    • Tracy’s journey of following the ‘normal’ path society told her to, which ultimately led her to want more, go after her dreams, and help the world in a BIGGER way
    • Where fear actually comes from + the role imposter syndrome plays
    • How we create safety instead of simply ‘finding’ it + ways to regulate our nervous system
    • What the ‘drip process’ is + why it’s our responsibility to change what’s being ‘dripped’
    • Realizing that you ARE doing ‘enough’ and you’re not ‘screwing up’ your kids
    • Why it’s vital that we understand our emotional addictions + how we clear emotional ‘congestion’ from the body that’s keeping us ‘stuck’
    • Key differences between our thoughts & our intuition + why overcoming fear is actually impossible, but not a bad thing
    • Understanding that emotion is energy in motion + what happens when you become a woman who fully ‘feels her feelings’

  • 118 | Behind the Curtain: Life as a Harvest Mom
    2024/10/17

In today’s episode, I want to give you a peek ‘behind the curtain’, and show you what life as a harvest mom really looks like. I think most of us would agree that certain seasons in life have us juggling more ‘glass balls’ than usual, which can totally throw our homeostasis off kilter!

If you’re a woman in a tough season right now (whether that’s harvest or something else), I want to urge you to PLEASE ask for help. You’re not a burden, and you can’t do it all! Modern motherhood feels so damn hard, because we were never meant to do all of this alone. We have to create these villages that we crave, and support each other where we can.

I hope this episode encourages you to give yourself grace, embrace progress over perfection, and know that you ARE enough, friend. On the other side of that hustle, survival, and burnout is a life you can be obsessed with - I promise!

    In this episode, I cover:

    • Why it’s okay to take a step back and not have a certain goal be top priority, all the time
    • Understanding that we ALL experience hard seasons, and admitting that we’re struggling won’t take away from someone else’s situation
    • Why we so often shove down and ‘pack away’ our emotions & feelings, instead of addressing them right away
    • The constant praise for independence + realizing you don’t have to do it alone, and you’re actually NOT a burden when you ask for help

  • 117 | Cultivating Confidence, Sucking at Something New, and Taking Brave Action
    2024/10/10

I’m very grounded in where I am now, but that wasn’t always the case. I know firsthand that this personal growth journey is HARD! We want our personal growth to be perfectly laid out with a set plan in place, but...it doesn’t work like that. Our personal growth and healing doesn’t have a certain ‘end date’; it’s more of a practice of trust and release to have faith in knowing that we ARE on the path that is meant for us, regardless of how long it takes!

In today’s episode, I’m talking about cultivating confidence, sucking at something new, and taking brave action. For me, my definition of success has greatly changed over the last year. As an Enneagram 3, I used to believe success meant chasing and achieving big goals so I would be ‘enough’, and people would love me. But no...it’s doing meaningful work that I truly LOVE, and is actually making a difference in other women’s lives!

    In this episode, I cover:

    • Why your personal growth and healing journey doesn’t have an ‘end date’, and it won’t be laid out ‘perfectly’ either
    • How my definition of success has dramatically changed in the last year
    • Understanding that you can’t ‘magically’ create confidence, because it’s cultivated by taking brave, scary action
    • Realizing that you’re already capable and qualified to start doing that ‘thing’ that you know you’re meant to do
    • The beauty that awaits you when you come HOME to yourself + fully know, love, and trust yourself

  • 116 | Morning Sun, Entrepreneurship with ADHD, and Burning it Down with Lindsy Trotter
    2024/10/03

I’m VERY excited to have a special guest, Lindsy Trotter, on the podcast today! Lindsy has become one of my ‘business besties’, and someone I’ve loved getting to work and connect with on a deeper level. Our paths have crossed in multiple ways this year; she joined one of my masterminds + we both joined Suzy Holman’s mastermind, and we have a LOT in common (kind of feels like we have the same brain).

Like so many of us, Lindsy has dealt with perfectionist and overachiever tendencies, and she loved checking ALLLL the boxes. As an ADHD entrepreneur who’s an Enneagram 3, she had accomplished so much already, but was not feeling fulfilled in her business. She was struggling with what to do next, and had multiple signs telling her that something wasn’t ‘right’ in her business, with her health, etc.

Ultimately, she knew she needed to slow down, ‘unplug’ more, and make some drastic changes in her life. Now, Lindsy has a renewed sense of excitement for her business and what’s to come - she’s truly FLOURISHING!

    In this episode, we cover:

    • Lindsy’s journey from teacher to entrepreneur, and the full-on ‘hustle and grind’ mode she was in as she built her business
    • When you’re misaligned/don’t know what’s next in your business, and feel like ‘burning it down’ is all that’s left to do
    • Why therapy and ‘feeling your feelings’ isn’t necessarily fun or enjoyable, but is crucial when you’re ready for the next chapter in your life
    • Lindsy’s upcoming course + what she wishes she better understood her first year in business
    • How ADHD has impacted Lindsy + how she shows up in business
