  • Season 2 Recap: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs and Cultivating Success

    Hosts Deb Turton and Guy Daigneault go back over the content of season two and put all the puzzle pieces together on shattering your limiting beliefs. Learn how to program your brain to see possibilities instead of roadblocks and shape the way you think and solve problems with the words you use to describe the world.

    • A belief is the acceptance that a statement is true.
    • All of season two has been about shattering limiting beliefs and using positive words to program your brain with a more positive mindset.
    • Words are the foundation of how we think. By using different words and asking the right questions, we can change so much of our brain’s programming and structure.
    • When you ask great questions, you typically reach great solutions.
    • When we have a big problem, the issue is usually having too much information and variables to deal with at one time. When we get overwhelmed, we rarely find the best solutions to the problem.
    • Make a habit of breaking down problems into small steps. This reduces the sense of overwhelm and gives you a sense of progress and momentum.
    • When you discover your biases and examine why you think the way you do, you open a door into a new realm of possibilities.
    • By focusing on what you don’t have, you prevent yourself from seeing the possibilities. Simply adding the word “yet” to the end of a limiting belief can change your life.
    • We all have the same 24 hours in the day. Have you taken concrete action to move forward in your life? If not, now is the time. With the right attitude and a little effort, you can change everything.
    • Use the tools and resources we provide to unlock your true potential. Don’t fall into the pattern that most people fall into and not use the tools that are available to you.

    • We all have the opportunity to get back up after falling down. One of the most important lessons you can learn is to not get stuck on the inevitable obstacles you are going to face in life.

    • We can all look at our life and feel like it’s not what we thought it would be, but if you look you will find glimmers of preciousness.
    • If we know what we want to do and we’re doing it, we can measure our efforts and have that sense of achievement.
    • A major part of feeling successful is being able to measure your results and feel a sense of having achieved something.
    • Identifying the important parts of each of the seven areas of your life is the first step in making yourself accountable to your goals. If spending time with your family is important to you, make that clear to yourself so you can create a plan and stick with it.
    • One of the most important things you can do to make sure you achieve your goals is to have someone come alongside you and hold you accountable. It’s a way of celebrating life and including people in your life.
    • Two horses in a paddock perform significantly better than either horse will perform on their own.
    • Your morning routine, night routine, and habits enable you to live the life you choose for yourself. When you combine those things with accountability, you will transform everything in your life.

  • Habits of Happiness: Simple Practices to Boost Your Positivity

    In today's episode, hosts Deb Turton and Guy Daigneault dive into habits and how to instill new habits and behaviors in your life by using simple, small steps that add momentum to your life. Find out how habits determine the results you get in your life and how to consciously hone and cultivate good habits that ensure success.

    • The definition of a habit is “the usual way of behaving or a tendency that someone has settled into.”
    • Creating habits is fundamentally about creating new behaviors and building a routine that makes them automatic, at least in the case of positive habits.
    • Habits can be extremely powerful, but they aren’t easy to change unless you start small and work your way up.
    • Deb grew up mostly without adult supervision. This led to her having a number of habits that weren’t really serving her in her adult years.
    • Our whole life is created by our habits, which means you can take control of your life by implementing the right habits. If you can create strong, positive habits in each of the seven important areas of your life, you will reap immense rewards.
    • When it comes to forming new habits, it’s important to start off with the smallest of steps.
    • Making small changes to the habits around your health will completely change your life. A new you is built from small, but powerful changes to your behavior.
    • Studies have shown that it takes anywhere from 21 to 65 days to change a habit. If you build on your habits on a daily basis, you will move closer to your goals.
    • Don’t look at the setbacks. Setbacks will happen, but it’s important to not let them halt your progress.
    • Don’t think about building new habits as missing out on something or taking something away from your life, and instead like you get the opportunity to reap the rewards of your awesome new habits and resulting life.
    • Accountability partners can be a great tool for establishing new habits. Having someone hold you to your commitment makes it much more likely that you will stick to the plan. Find someone who will care for you without judgment.
    • People with an accountability partner or support system in place lose weight 32% faster than those who don’t. Support can make all the difference in achieving your goals.
