  • Episode Seven | What history can teach us about Innovation with Guest Chris Clews
    2024/10/10
What can classic 80s pop culture teach us about innovation today? In this episode, we’re joined by Chris Clews, who turned his love for 80s movies like The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off into a thriving entrepreneurial venture. Chris shares how he pursued his dream while balancing a corporate job, working late nights and weekends to create content that resonated with audiences. His unique niche—finding life lessons in 80s films and music—quickly gained traction after he posted a LinkedIn article that went viral, validating his idea that other's found value in his content. Now, Chris is a full-time keynote speaker using his passion to inspire and educate others. Tune in to hear his journey and what history can teach us about life and innovation! More about Chris: Keynote Speaker / Author / 80s Pop Culture Guy Chris Clews is a keynote speaker, author and all around ‘80s pop culture guy. Growing up in the '80s and with over twenty years of leadership experience in corporate marketing, Chris knew three things very well – '80s pop culture, business and this crazy thing we call life. He left his corporate marketing career of 20 plus years and combined his areas of expertise to become a keynote speaker and author. As a keynote speaker Chris has spoken to a variety of organizations and companies including VISA, Duke Health, University of Florida, Penn Medicine, DHL, American Marketing Association, CMAA and more. His keynote is titled “Everything I Need To Know (For Life and Work), I Learned from ‘80s Pop Culture” and as an author he created the popular book series, The Ultimate Series on Essential Work & Life Lessons from ‘80s Pop Culture, which currently has three volumes. He's super passionate about animal rescue which is a huge part of Chris’s life. He donates a portion of the proceeds from his book sales and speaking events to Wonder Paws rescue, the organization that saved his pit-mix, Bodhi. He lives by the quote from the poet laureate, Ferris Bueller, when he said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Connect with Chris: Website: https://www.chrisclews.com X: https://www.twitter.com/80spopculture Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisclews80s/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.clews.10 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@chrisclews80s_author_speaker LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chrisclews/ Grab his book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBW46DQT?binding=kindle_edition&ref=dbs_dp_rwt_sb_pc_tkin If you liked what you heard, we'd love for you to come back for more episodes!
