  • Episode 1496 - Jarvis Kingston Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest ! Amen
    2025/10/15
Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Matthew 21:9

Expectations may fail but God’s plan prevails.

Today’s daily devotional highlights the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Crowds welcomed Him as a conquering king, expecting Him to overthrow Roman rule. Instead, Jesus came to overthrow sin and death through His sacrifice on the cross, revealing His true purpose as the Savior.
    STORY
Bible in a Year: The Triumphal Entry
    Scripture
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

    Matthew 21:9
Have you ever had expectations that were completely overturned?

The Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is a powerful example of how God’s plans often differ from our own. As Jesus approached Jerusalem, He was welcomed by crowds who laid their cloaks and palm branches on the road, shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.”

They anticipated a political Messiah who would overthrow Roman rule and restore Israel’s glory. However, Jesus’ mission was far greater—He came to overthrow sin and death.

How do we respond when our expectations of Jesus differ from His plans for us?

The crowd’s misunderstanding reminds us that God’s ways are higher than our ways. Despite their expectations, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a humble donkey, signifying peace and fulfillment of prophecy. He knew His journey would lead to the cross, not a throne.

Have you ever felt disappointed because God’s plans didn’t align with your expectations?

Mary’s act of anointing Jesus with costly spikenard signifies her understanding of His true mission. She prepared Him for burial, acknowledging the sacrifice He was about to make. This contrasts sharply with Judas Iscariot’s reaction, who saw it as a waste. This highlights the importance of recognizing and honoring Jesus’ purpose.

Are we like Mary, willing to give our best to Jesus, or like Judas, focused on material concerns?

As we reflect on the Triumphal Entry, let’s realign our expectations with God’s plan. Jesus came not to meet earthly desires but to fulfill a divine purpose—our salvation.

How can you shift your focus from worldly expectations to embracing God’s will for your life?

    REFLECTION
Reflect on the areas of your life where your expectations might not align with God’s plans. Trust that Jesus’ path, though it may lead through humility and sacrifice, ultimately leads to victory and redemption.

This week, focus on surrendering your own plans and embracing God’s will. Spend time in prayer, asking for clarity and the courage to follow Jesus, even when the path is unexpected.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: HUMILITY
Ask someone, "How can I serve you today?"

    PRAYER
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
    MATTHEW 21:9
My Lord, I know that You have called me to be a great leader amongst Your people. As You begin to elevate my life give me the perspective and posture of Jesus. Help me to be confident that I get to reveal that You've called me to greater things. When the weight of leadership tries to get me to shift from my identity, I will stand steadfast like the colt in today's story. I will remain calm in my resolve to unapologetically be me and lead how You've created me. As I move in Your presence help me to recognize my season… help me to remain faithful when it's time for me to step out and live out the mission for my life. Like Jesus, hide me until it's my time to accelerate and elevate, for it is in the quiet and obscure moments that You are building my character and integrity. So that when I step into my calling, and I’m forced to carry my cross, I won't buckle under the weight of the responsibility. As I begin my triumphal entry into my purpose I will look to You Jesus to see me through. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾

  • Episode 1494 - Jarvis Kingston And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth John 11:43 Monday Night Football
    2025/10/13
Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 John 11:43

In the face of death Jesus speaks life.

God's Word is alive no matter where it's read, even inside a prison cell. Think of the hope that floods in as an incarcerated man or woman reads about God's grace, forgiveness, and love. That's the life-
    changing moment you can create.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: HUMILITY
Spend time in nature today and thank God for His creation.

Today’s daily devotional highlights Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, demonstrating His power over death and His compassion. Despite arriving four days after Lazarus’ death, Jesus called him out of the tomb, revealing God’s glory and bringing comfort to Mary and Martha.
    STORY
    Bible in a Year: Lazarus
    Scripture
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

    John 11:43
Have you ever felt like a situation was beyond hope?

In the story of Lazarus, we see Jesus confront what seems like the ultimate end—death itself. Lazarus, a beloved friend of Jesus, falls seriously ill, and despite urgent pleas from his sisters, Mary and Martha, Jesus delays His arrival. By the time Jesus reaches Bethany, Lazarus has been dead for four days. This delay, however, is not neglect but a divine setup to display God’s glory.

How often do we see delays as denials?

When Jesus finally arrives, He is deeply moved by the grief of His friends. He weeps with them, showing His deep compassion and empathy. How comforting it is to know that Jesus understands our sorrows and weeps with us in our pain.

Have you experienced moments where you felt Jesus’ empathy in your struggles?

At the tomb, Jesus commands the stone to be rolled away, despite the concerns about the smell of death. He prays to the Father, demonstrating His reliance on God’s power. With a loud voice, Jesus calls out, "Lazarus, come forth!" And Lazarus emerges, alive and restored. This miracle is a profound demonstration of Jesus’ power over death and a foreshadowing of His own resurrection.

Do you believe that Jesus can bring life to the dead areas of your life?

This story teaches us to trust in God’s timing and power, even when situations seem hopeless. It reminds us that Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and in Him, our darkest moments can become testimonies of God’s glory.

How can you trust Jesus with the "dead" areas of your life today?

    REFLECTION
This week, focus on strengthening your faith by recalling past instances where God has shown His power and faithfulness in your life.

Reach out to someone who is going through a difficult time and offer them encouragement and support, reminding them of God’s ability to bring life out of death. Pray for a heart that trusts in God’s resurrection power and looks for His glory in every circumstance.

    PRAYER
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
    JOHN 11:43
Thank You God that the story of Lazarus serves as a reminder that death has no power over my soul. Through the life of Jesus, continually displays for me the fact that he can conquer anything including the Goliath of death. Therefore, I will not be afraid to live my life to the fullest, because I know that I will not die but I will simply transition to my heavenly home when my time comes. I declare that I will not live with regret or remorse but instead I will maximize every opportunity that I'm given, I will love with an intense and compassionate heart and I will live out the purpose and plans that You have for me Lord. In the same way, Jesus, that You called forth Lazarus from the tomb, I now call forth from the tombs in my life the dreams and visions that have died because of fear and doubt! I thank You Lord that as I place them in Your hands You will breathe new life and new strategy into every dream and vision You’ve given me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 106:3

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. -Zephaniah 3:17

    DEVOTION
    Based on Zephaniah 3
God as jubilant lover shocks religious sensibilities. 'In the midst' places Him central, not distant. 'Mighty' ensures capability; 'save' declares intention. But then—divine emotion explodes. God rejoices, rests in love, sings over you. The universe's Creator becomes celestial Celebrator of His people. 'Joy over thee with singing'—heaven's choir has a Soloist. If God sings over you, who can sing against you? Divine delight defeats human despair.
    A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Joyful God, You don't just tolerate but celebrate Your people. You sing over me with delight. I worship You, rejoicing Lord.

CONFESSION: I confess forgetting that You delight in me.

THANKSGIVING: Thank You for rejoicing over me with singing.

SUPPLICATION: Help me hear Your song of love over me today.

    PRAYER
Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.
    PSALM 106:3
Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful for Your unwavering love and forgiveness, even when I fall short. Your faithfulness throughout the generations is a true testament to Your promise-keeping nature, and I rest in the knowledge that You will never leave nor forsake me. Lord, I ask for Your peace to surround me as I close my eyes tonight. I surrender all my worries, anxieties, and troubles to You, knowing You will see me through every season of life. Thank You, Lord, for Your constant provision, grace, and mercy. May Your love be felt deeply within my heart as I drift off into peaceful sleep tonight. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. 🙏🏾

Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 18:13

A thankful heart is a humble heart.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: HUMILITY

Today’s daily devotional highlights Jesus’ compassion through healing lepers, teaching on prayer, and emphasizing humility. Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to thank Him. He then shared a parable on persistent prayer and taught a lesson on humility, showing that true greatness lies in recognizing our need for God’s mercy.
    STORY
Bible in a Year: Lepers, Judges, and Pride
    Scripture
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

    Luke 18:13
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the need for mercy and compassion?

In today’s stories, Jesus exemplifies both. As He approaches Galilee, ten lepers cry out to Him for mercy. Jesus, moved by compassion, heals them all, yet only one returns to thank Him. This act of gratitude is a powerful reminder of how often we overlook the importance of giving thanks.

When was the last time you paused to thank God for His blessings in your life?

Later, when His disciples inquire about prayer, Jesus tells them a parable of a persistent widow and an indifferent judge. The widow’s unwavering persistence eventually leads the judge to grant her request. Jesus uses this story to illustrate the importance of being persistent in prayer, reassuring us that God, unlike the judge, is compassionate and ready to respond to our needs.

Do you find yourself giving up on prayer too soon? How can you cultivate a spirit of persistence in your prayer life?

The next day, Jesus addresses the crowd, teaching about humility. He contrasts the proud Pharisee, who boasts of his righteousness, with the humble publican, who seeks God’s mercy with a repentant heart. Jesus makes it clear that humility and a contrite spirit are what please God.

How often do we approach God with a humble heart, recognizing our need for His mercy and grace?

    REFLECTION
Reflect on your own life and consider how you can embody gratitude, persistence, and humility. Begin by expressing thanks to God daily, acknowledging His blessings and mercies.

Commit to being persistent in prayer, knowing that God is compassionate and hears your pleas. Lastly, approach God with a humble heart, recognizing your need for His grace.

    PRAYER
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
    LUKE 18:13
God of heaven and earth, I want to take a moment and thank You for cleansing my life and for giving me a second chance to enjoy all that You have for me like You did to the lepers in today's story. May my posture and my heart be like the one leper who came back to thank You. May my life serve as a continual thanksgiving to You for all that You've done for me and all that You are going to do for me in the future. I live with gratitude because it is only by Your power Jesus that I have access to eternal life and life in abundance here on Earth. For I will not live with the spirit of judgment on my life like the Pharisee did to the tax collector. Instead I will model the life of Jesus who looked at the heart before any outward appearance. Pride will not be afforded the luxury to take up space in my mind and life because that space is already occupied by the love and humility of Christ. I stamp this as my truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾

    2025/10/10
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 105:5

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:19

    DEVOTION
    Based on Philippians 4
Paul writes from prison about provision—credibility through experience. 'My God' personalizes the Provider. 'Shall supply' offers certainty, not possibility. 'All your need' covers everything—no need exceeds His supply. 'According to his riches' means the supply matches heaven's wealth, not earth's poverty. 'In glory' locates the treasure; 'by Christ Jesus' opens the vault. Your needs meet God's riches at Christ's cross. Supply is certain when the Supplier is infinite.
    A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Providing God, Your riches in glory exceed all calculation. You supply from infinite resources. I worship You, generous Provider.

CONFESSION: I confess worrying about needs You've promised to supply.

THANKSGIVING: Thank You for supplying all my needs through Christ.

SUPPLICATION: Supply today's needs according to Your glorious riches.

    PRAYER
Remember his marvelous works that he has done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.
    PSALM 105:5
Heavenly Father, I come before You exhausted, my eyes heavy with fatigue. I ask that You grant me rest, sweet release from my labors. As the Israelites of old were delivered from their slavery in Egypt, I ask that You deliver me from the bondage of wakeful nights. Just as they were led through the wilderness, sustained by Your hand, I ask that You guide me through my tiredness and refresh my soul. Please help me cast off the burden of my worries and release my anxieties to You. Let me lie down without fear and awake with Your peace in my heart. Grant me the peace that comes from faith, knowing that You are in control and working all things together for my good. Let me rest in Your loving kindness, and find comfort in Your strength. I pray this in Your name, through Christ who gives me strength. Amen. 🙏🏾

  • Episode 1490 - Jarvis Kingston Jesus parables teaches us that no matter how far we’ve strayed, God’s love remains steadfast. Luke 15:32 Amen
    2025/10/10
Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 15:32

In God’s eyes, it’s never too late to come home.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: HUMILITY
Check in on a friend today. Ask how you can pray for them.

Today’s daily devotional focuses on the Prodigal Son, where Jesus illustrates God’s boundless forgiveness. The younger son wastes his inheritance but returns home, seeking forgiveness, and is warmly welcomed by his father. This story highlights God’s readiness to forgive and restore us when we repent.
    STORY
Bible in a Year: The Prodigal Son
    Scripture
It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

    Luke 15:32
Have you ever felt so far gone that you doubted you could ever come back?

In the parable of the Prodigal Son, Jesus provides a beautiful illustration of God’s unwavering love and forgiveness. The story begins with a younger son who demands his inheritance, leaves home, and squanders his wealth on reckless living. When a severe famine hits, he finds himself destitute and alone, longing for the food that even the pigs eat.

What does this teach us about the consequences of our choices?

The young man’s journey into the depths of despair is a powerful reminder of how our decisions can lead us away from God and into hardship. Have you ever experienced a moment when you felt the weight of your choices pulling you down?

In his desperation, the son decides to return to his father, not expecting to be welcomed back as a son, but hoping to be taken on as a servant. To his surprise, his father sees him from afar, runs to him, embraces him, and celebrates his return with a feast.

This act of grace and forgiveness reveals the heart of God towards us. How do you think you would react if you were in the father's place?

Jesus’ parable teaches us that no matter how far we’ve strayed, God’s love remains steadfast. He waits eagerly for our return, ready to forgive and restore us. Are there areas in your life where you need to experience this kind of forgiveness and restoration?

Today, let’s reflect on the depth of God’s love and consider how we can extend that same grace to others.

    REFLECTION
Reflect on your life and identify areas where you might feel lost or far from God.

Understand that no matter how far you have strayed, God’s love is always reaching out to you, ready to forgive and welcome you back. Take a moment to confess and turn back to God, trusting in His boundless mercy.

    PRAYER
It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
    LUKE 15:32
Lord, Your grace and Your forgiveness never ceases to amaze me and no other story displays this more than the one that You shared about the prodigal son in Matthew 18:12–14. Through the reading of this text I am mesmerized by how even with the foolish decisions that were made, the Father never left his position of searching. May this bring comfort to my soul in knowing that no matter what mistakes I make that You are always searching for me. When I feel that I have blown and squandered my inheritance I praise You because You have more in store for me as I come to You with a humble and broken heart. When others seek to keep me in the pig pen of life, I praise You that You will clothe me with honor, You’ll restore power back to me through Your ring of authority, and You will seat me at the table of greatness again. All that You have is mine so I will make sure not to be jealous when I see others get restored back to their place of opulence and abundance, because what is Yours Father is also mine, because I too am a child of God. I was lost but through Your love Jesus I am found! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾
