  • Pizza Italian History With Erica D Arcangelo
    2024/11/21

We're here with Erica D'Arcangelo, Author of A Story About Pizza. This historical fiction book is an adaptation of the story of her grandfather who immigrated from Italy to America, working as a coal miner. It follows his lifetime journey of family, food, and amazing pizza. Today we will discuss growing up Italian, culture, and food. Most of all we're going to talk about how pizza became the American dream for so many Italian families that run family-owned and operated pizzerias in America today. After many years away, I suddenly found myself home. My father, at the time, was recovering from heart surgery and struggling to find his place after retiring from his job as an administrator. While working, he also owned and managed our family's pizzeria. It had been open since 1960. Little did I know that my plan to get my father "busy" again would become the inspiration for the book about my family. The story of my grandfather. While working with my father to bring the pizzeria 'back to life' I looked through old photos and listened while he told me the story of our family. How my grandfather worked in the coal mines, how poor he was, and how his dream was to open a pizzeria. This was a place where our family grew. Where celebrated Christmas Eve every year. A place where local people of all ages would come in to eat and be part of the family.@https://astoryaboutpizza.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@AStoryAboutPizza https://www.facebook.com/darcspizza https://www.instagram.com/darcspizza/ https://www.tiktok.com/@darcspizza #ItalianFoodHistory#audienceengagement #PizzaChronicles #EricaDArcangeloExplores#PizzaHeritage#ItalianCultureAndCuisine

  • The Legacy of Mark Connor
    2024/10/29

He writes fiction, poetry, and journalism. He is the 2022 Boxing inductee to the Mancini's St. Paul Sports Hall of Fame. He attended the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, and Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and graduated with a BA in English from the University of Minnesota. He has written and published many articles about Boxing, Irish culture, and people and events related to Irish freedom. He has also published local news and features on business, politics, and current affairs in Minnesota and the U.S. It's About Time (Millions of Copies Sold for Dad) is a saga wrapped around a package of poems, guarded by Angels. With a narrative style that reads like a novel, contains a collection of poetry, and shares an autobiography, Mark Connor guides us through a journey of love, family, and life that is ours as much as his own, peeking at the point of merger of difference and unity. Following him from memory to memory, we feel the eyes upon us, defeat the empire of fear, embrace the kingdom of love, and find ten minutes a day to be grateful. All the while, we celebrate the city of Saint Paul (with a friendly nod to Minneapolis), and experience Irish influence in neighborhood life, rooted in Catholic cohesion, embraced by indigenous America in the medicine wheel. @https://www.facebook.com/141146932597653/ #MarkConnerLegacy#HonoringMarkConner #InspiringLeadership#MarkConnerImpact #LegacyOfFaithAndVision https://boxersandwritersmagazine.com/books/
