  • The Craziest Weight Loss Story

    "I don’t remember ever being on any weight-loss program that made me feel successful without feeling deprived and/or exhausted from the work it required."

    One of my clients recently made this comment. But let's be honest, that's not how it is for most people.

    Trying to lose weight usually means a few things . . .

    • Restriction, portion control, and being hungry
    • Forcing ourselves to do things we don't want to do
    • Forcing ourselves to eat things we don't want to eat
    • Feeling really alone because no one else understands what we're doing
    • Feeling pressure because it's not happening fast enough
    • Second-guessing what we're doing

  • One of The Biggest Misconceptions About Losing Weight
    2025/04/08

    The past few weeks, I've had clients ask the following questions and I've coached them through all sorts of things like . . .

    “Anytime I start to make food changes, part of me just feels rebellious. Why am I like this? How can I lose weight if I'm like this?”

    “I know strength training is important, but I just can't seem to get myself to do it. I really prefer cardio. What should I do? What do you recommend?”

    “Since I stopped weighing myself every single day, I don't want to weigh myself at all. I have so much less stress now. Is it okay to not weigh at all?”

    “I was doing SO good and then I went on a little vacation with my family over the weekend. And now I feel like I just can't get back to it.”

    Knowing what to do is just one small piece of the puzzle. Losing weight is actually about so much more.


    Losing weight is really about finally SEEING and changing our thought patterns, beliefs, and daily habits that have probably been ingrained for 20, 30, sometimes even 40 years!


    And that doesn't magically happen just because you suddenly know WHAT you should do.

  • 10 Things To Stop Doing Unless You Like Hating Your Body

    It breaks my heart to see how mean people can be to themselves. I see it SO much.

    It’s not every person I coach, but it’s definitely the majority. So, there’s a good chance you might be a lot harder on yourself than you really need to be.


    There’s also a good chance that you think this is necessary. You might think that you actually NEED to be hard on yourself if you want to eventually be successful with losing weight.


    You might also think that if you stop (stop being really hard on yourself), then you’ve let yourself off the hook! And you’ll never reach your weight loss goals.


    I couldn’t disagree more. I’ll explain why in this episode. Plus we’ll cover 10 things to watch out for … 10 ways you might be beating yourself up and being unnecessarily hard on yourself.


    These are things that will make you feel fatter than you really are. Things that will make you feel worse than you should! Things that are much more likely to push you AWAY from the results you want rather than moving you toward the body and life you want.
