  • Leadership
    2024/11/19
We owe those that we lead a great deal of our time and attention. I have seen this not be the case over and over as entrepreneurs grow their business. They wait too long to make their first hire, get overwhelmed and just desperately hire "someone" to do what they no longer want to do. While there are indicators that they need to bring in some help for leverage, they truly are NOT ready to add to their staff.

At the time of hiring, you should have created the systems and procedures that you plan on having this person follow. If your world is chaotic, it is not fair to bring someone into the fold and not have them have a clear understanding or path to success. You must remember, they are learning a new job, new culture, and expectations. If you also pile on navigating through your mess, it will most likely lead to failure.

Join me as I talk about setting clear expectations, how to relay your values, creating a healthy culture and how to share your vision with anyone considering joining your company. When you aren't clear, they won't be clear AND they will formulate their own set of norms. People truly crave structure and understanding and will navigate toward this with or without you! When it is without you, it is a recipe for failure.

  • Embrace Possibility or Cling to Certainty
    2024/11/12
As we are in the midst of finalizing our plans for 2025 and all that is possible, ask yourself "Am I Embracing the possibility or am I going to CLING to the Certainty of my past"? You have a choice!

As a coach and someone that is heavily involved in multiple businesses writing business plans, so often we write the plan and then just go back to doing what we have always done! And to be honest, it is easy to do as the brain likes certainty and defaulting to what you have always done is "easier" and will put your brain in a state of calm! When we move toward what is possible and enter to our "discomfort zone" the brain tends to panic and will do its best to create doubt, fear and drive you back to your old ways.

Embracing the Possibility versus Clinging to Certainty are on opposite side of the spectrum. One is going to allow you to stay in a place of trust that the "new" will work and it will work for you and the "certainty" side will create doubt and drive you back.

When you stay in the space of possibility, you will experience more creativity, resilience, adaptability, and success.

If you succumb to the "certainty", you will most likely lose your drive (motviation), become stagnant, fear any change, or risk and miss opportunity. This missed opportunity may not even be something you are aware of because you have your "certainty blinders" on!

Embracing POSSIBLITIES will allow you to be more mindful of your thoughts. Allowing you to drive more positive thoughts versus negative. Help you reframe any challenges you experience as "amazing opportunities", stay in momentum AND ultimate blow you own mind at what you can do!

Listen as we dive into the above strategies and how you can choose and live your business and life in the space of possibilities.

  • Peak or Off Season: You Decide
    2024/11/05
We are well into the 4th Quater of the year and as Realtors and Sales Professionals, we have a choice to make. Will you make this your PEAK season or your OFF season?

I know it is tempting to "coast" and enjoy the holiday season. To be of the mindset of "either I can enjoy the holidays, or I can work. When you think in terms of "OR", you truly limit yourself. What if we approached it from an "and" perspective? I can still be engaged AND make time for the holiday season. IT IS possible to do both.

In choosing to do both, you are also choosing to make this your "peak" season. I know from being in the Real Estate Industry for over 23 years now, that a big majority of Realtors take this time "off". Which to me, was always the greatest opportunity to secure business while others were coasting.

In addition, if you chose to make this your "Off Season", you are truly impacting 4 months of your business. If we take November and December off and reengage in January, you have a 60-90 day lag before you could possibly have a closing or a sale. Essentially losing 4-5 months of income.

Take a listen on how you can make this your Peak Season, enjoy the holidays AND set yourself up for an amazing start to the new year.

  • Information Overload?
    2024/10/15
As we continue to move through the "planning season" it is imperative that we pay attention to our thoughts around Analysis Paralysis and information overload. Both can cause you to pause or stop on your journey to your new plan and completely derail you.

As you are projecting your new year through your business plan, I'd like to invite you to think of it as a "life plan". After all, goals without meaning have no energy. Every goal you set, has an impact on your life and business.

Do spend some time analyzing your previous year. What went well and what didn't work. Strategize around the loses and learn from them. Also take time to get real with yourself and ask the tough question, "what did I not do that if I had would have allowed me to achieve goal or exceed goal". This does require analyzing both the wins and losses. It also requires you to be honest about what you were pushing away. We all have done it or do it now and it is the ONE thing that if you just did, would change everything.

Also, spend time assessing where you are spending time gathering information. If it is not in alignment with your activities, don't bother. Why would you invest time in something that has NOTHING to do with your strategies? Commit to your 3 sources of business and ONLY invest in courses, masterminds, coaches, podcast, and webinars that are in alignment with your chosen strategies.

  • When Your Plan Fails
    2024/10/08
It is that time of year again! Time to start planning for the upcoming year. For many, this is an incredibly exciting time and for others, it is putting together a plan that in the soul, they believe will fail before the ink dries.

Many times, we have been encouraged, pushed, forced into creating a goal that is not achievable for the simple reason of time. Or, we have set a goal that is greater than our last year goal even though we fell short of it.

Multiple reasons why we fail. I personally believe we "detach" for the impact of the goal and only view it as a business number/statistic we must hit when, the reality is we are creating our life. That goal has an impact on you, your family, your team and your legacy. When we can connect the impact to the goal, it has substantially more meaning to it.

We also overestimate what we can do in 1 year and underestimate what we can do in 3. What if, we set a 3-year goal, broke it down to an annual goal and then a 90-day plan? Reducing our runway from 365 days to 90. This takes away the "thought" that we have plenty of time. Reducing the length of the time of achieving the goal makes it much more realistic and manageable.

In addition, during those 90days plan on some wins and some losses. Plan on learning quickly from the losses so we can stay on track. Again, removing the "I have plenty of time to get back on track and just need to keep doing what I'm doing" helps the likelihood that you will achieve your goal.

Take a listen to some sage advice on creating, following, and achieving your plan. This should be an exciting time of creation for you, your business and life.
