  • 70: No One Knows What They’re Doing (at first)—You’re Allowed to Be New at This
    2025/04/17

Let’s be honest: we all want to be great right away.
But the truth is, every confident photographer you look up to?
    They started out unsure too.

In this episode, we’re diving into the creative fears that show up—when you’re trying something new, stepping into a new skill, or finally saying yes to the dream that’s been tugging at you for way too long.

This episode is the reminder you didn’t know you needed.

You’ll hear a real story about a mistake I major mistake I just made on a shoot (yep, one that would’ve wrecked me a few years ago) and how I chose to keep going anyway.

Because building a photography career, developing your creative voice, and growing your confidence? That comes from doing. Not waiting to be perfect.

    This episode will help you:

    • Let go of the pressure to get it right the first time

    • Reframe what it means to be a “beginner”

    • Take your next creative step—without fear holding you back

    It’s time to stop waiting.
    Start the thing.
Say yes to what’s calling you.
You’ll learn more in the doing than you ever will in the planning.

  • 69: For the Photographer Who Feels Like They’ll Never Be Enough
    2025/04/09

If you’ve found your way here, I want you to know this: you’re not alone.

If you’ve ever looked around and wondered if you’re falling behind…
If you’ve questioned whether all the effort, all the waiting, all the late nights editing or dreaming or doubting—will ever lead to something real…
I created this episode for you.

Inside, I’m sharing something really personal, something I wrote after coming back to my camera and realizing just how many seasons I’ve spent questioning my place in all of this, too.

This isn’t about pushing harder or rushing to catch up.
It’s a gentle space to reflect. A moment to breathe.
And a reminder that growth doesn’t always look like progress from the outside.

Whether you’re just starting out, coming back after a break, or sitting in the waiting, I hope this meets you exactly where you are and helps you feel a little more grounded in your path.

You’re not behind. You’re growing in your own time. And there is still space for you here.

  • 68: A Fun, Easy, Slightly Unhinged Return to the Podcast With Good Friend & Brand Photographer Rachel Burns.
    2025/04/03

Alright. We said we were making a podcast comeback before, and then… we disappeared again. But this time? It’s real. It’s happening. It’s waiting for you right now.

I wanted this first episode back to feel like a reset—something light, fun, and like you’re just hanging out with friends who get your nerdy obsession with photography.

So I called in Rachel Burns—a wildly talented motherhood + brand photographer, (TPP & Flash Course Alumni), and one of my good friends.

She’s built a career that blends storytelling, emotion, and real life, the kind of work that makes you feel something. Whether she’s photographing families or brands, she captures the in-between sun soaked moments that bring images to life.

And recently? She made her dream shoot in Hawaii happen—pitching brands, making connections, and pulling it off in the most incredible way.

In this episode we talk all about how to pitch brands for travel shoots (because yes, you can get paid to shoot in dream destinations), but we also cover some very important topics, like:

    • The great eyebrow catastrophe of 2025

    • My own personal armpit disaster, which was both painful and humbling.

    • The chaos of motherhood, the reality of balance (or lack thereof), and the questionable fashion choices we make daily.

Basically, this episode is an invitation to just laugh, dream big, and hang out with us.

And I couldn’t think of a better way to bring the podcast back than this.

I’m so happy to be back in your ears, and I can’t wait to keep showing up for you.

  • 67: Too Busy to Chase Your Photography Dreams? Let’s Change That!
    2024/09/05

Have you ever had one of those weeks where your to-do list just stares at you like, “Yeah… you’re never finishing me”? Same.

Between work, life, family, endless responsibilities, and trying to remember what sleep feels like (hiii mom life!), it can feel hard to even think about making time for your photography dreams, let alone actually work towards them.

Here’s the thing though, no matter how busy life feels, you can make space for your photography and your dreams.

You just need a way to carve out time, even when it feels like there’s none left.

And trust me, I know the feeling—wanting to do everything but somehow doing nothing—you blink and suddenly it’s 10 p.m. and you’re staring at your phone like, ‘Wait, where did the day go?’

That’s why, in this week’s podcast episode, we’re talking about exactly that—how to turn those overwhelming, anxious feelings into action. Spoiler Alert: It’s not about having more time, it’s about using the time you’ve got.

Here’s a little sneak peek of what we’re talking about:

    • How to stop feeling like a deer in headlights when you look at your to-do list and start actually moving forward
    • The magic of setting one big, bold goal that gets you excited—and then breaking it down into manageable steps
    • How to find your “golden hours” and use them to make serious progress (even if it’s just 15 minutes at a time!)

This isn’t about adding more to your plate—it’s about finding freedom in the small, intentional steps that get you closer to your dreams. And the best part? It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing up for yourself, consistently, even when life feels too busy.

You don’t have to wait for the “perfect moment” to chase your photography dreams.

The perfect moment is right now.

Every small step you take adds up to something bigger.

So if you’re ready to turn that busy, overwhelming feeling into something productive and meaningful, this episode is for you.

  • 66: How to Show up and Sell Yourself as a Photographer When the World Is on Fire
    2024/08/28

Social media used to feel SO fun.

I mean, think back to the days when we’d just take a photo with our iphone, slap the Valencia filter on it and call it a day.

It was so simple back then, so pure...

    But then came the algorithm...

And with it, the never ending demand for MORE!

More likes, more followers, more content… more, more, more!

It kinda becomes exhausting, doesn’t it?

As photographers, we pour our hearts into our work, only to feel like we're constantly chasing something that keeps moving further away.

And then you add in the constant stream of heartbreaking news every time you open the app—the world seemingly on fire—it can make sharing your art feel almost pointless.

It’s hard not to wonder if what we create even makes a difference when the world feels so heavy.

Maybe you’ve been feeling it too, and if so, it's important to remember that art has the power to bring light, hope, and connection—even when it feels like everything is falling apart.

Your creativity deserves to be seen, and it IS possible to reconnect with the joy that brought you to social media in the first place.

And I’m sharing all about it in today’s podcast episode, we’re talking…

    • finding that spark again
    • making social media work for you,
    • what’s been making me feel disconnected from IG and how I’m bringing that joy back
    • how to stay true to yourself and your craft, even when the world feels like it’s falling apart

  • 65: "I don't know who I am anymore. Rediscovering My Creative Identity After Becoming a Mom"
    2024/08/21

    Well, hiiiiiiii friend! 👋

It’s been a while, but I’m back in your inbox…and so is The Photographer’s Podcast. 🥹

But, in all honesty, I’m actually not really back. Not the whole way, at least.

Because this whole becoming a mom thing has changed me, and I’m not the same person anymore. Who am I? I’m not quite sure yet, but I do know I feel different. I’m a different business owner, a different photographer, a different wife, a different human.

And, most importantly, mom to two little angel babies.

So, again, Hi! I’m here and the podcast is back, and I’m so excited to be showing up for you in this way again.

And before I say any more I need to say thank you.Thank you, thank you, thank you for being here too, and allowing me to take this pause.

I can’t tell you how much it means, and how thankful I am to each and every person in this incredible, beautiful community.

To kick off disappearing from the world for a while (and new-era-of-Nicole), I’m sharing a very honest deep dive into the last 9 months of my life on today’s episode.

I’m so glad to be back, different and all.

  • 64: *Student Success* How She Turned a Christmas Gift Into a Full Time Career With Claudia Segui
    2024/02/09

I’m baaaaaackkkk (with two new best friends) ...

You heard that right, The Photographer’s Podcast is BACK!

But before we get into it, I want to thank you for being here, for allowing me this season of rest as I adjust to this new mom life. I’d be lying if I said I was actually adjusted by now. This is a process that’s gonna take time, and I’m enjoying the freedom and flexibility I have as a photographer to take it all in without having to rush back into work. So, thank you.

Being a photographer who’s in control of their own schedule, flexibility and freedom, is truly a gift. And I don’t take that lightly.

I wanted to properly kick things off by welcoming TPP alumni Claudia Segui to the podcast!

Claudia is an incredible wedding photographer originally from Cuba who’s currently living in South Florida. She is a mom of two, a wife, an inspiring artist and a hilarious, welcoming and talented photographer.

Claudia never imagined she would become a photographer. She spent most days in the courtroom working as a stenographer. But when she found herself going through a tough time, feeling stressed out about her day job, her husband suggested photography as a release. After receiving a camera as a christmas gift, she was hooked, until she tried to use it…

“I thought the camera was broken, I was like… it has to be, I can’t be that bad.”

Then Claudia joined The Photographer’s Path… and everything changed.

Today, she’s sharing exactly how much that Christmas gift changed her life.

Claudia is a perfect example of what happens when you follow your inspiration.

In this episode, she talks about:

➡️ How she booked her first wedding of 2024 in Hawaii

➡️ What she does to stand out as a photographer

➡️ How she breaks the ice with new clients to ensure a smooth wedding day

➡️ What she did to find her niche and style

➡️ Advice for aspiring photographers, and so much more...

  • 63: What to Do When a Client Asks for Your RAW Files + WE'RE GOING ON A BREAK!
    2023/09/22

Most photographers at one point or another have been hit with the dreaded question…

“Hey, do you think you could send me the raw files from our shoot?!”

    It’s like a dagger in every photographer's heart…

We’re immediately plagued with questions like…

    Did they hate the photos?

    Did they hate the editing?

    Did they hate the colors?!

    Do they hate ME?!

It’s enough to make us spiral out of control.

But it doesn’t have to be like that.

I’ve experienced this question several times throughout my career and I’ve happily given clients my raw files, and I’ve happily NOT given clients my raw files.

It’s a complicated question with so much to unpack, and it’s something many of my students in The Photographer’s Path have asked me about.

So today I’m sharing my insight with you…

    Inside the episode you’ll find:

    • Examples of what you can say when a client asks this question
    • What this question really means about you as a photographer
    • Advice on how to clearly communicate with your clients
    • Tips on how to prevent this from happening again

I’ve also got some big news I’m sharing in the episode as well

News that involves our new social media course and how we’re gonna be approaching the podcast for the next two months...
