  • Episode 16: A visit to Lebanon and Discussing the Conflict between Israel/Gaza/Hamas/Palestine
    2023/11/09

Hey y'all thanks for joining me again. Wow has time passed. I honestly have had a lot going on in my life and this took a back seat. Thanks for your patience with me. If you've been here since the beginning you know I've wanted to podcast weekly, biweekly, monthly. I hope to have some consistency and for now my goal will be monthly. If you'd like a topic covered or like to be a guest let me know! I am not ready for a full sprint but I'd like to start walking again with this podcast.

This episode we dove into how my trip to Lebanon went. Discussing a variety of related topics like having parents whom are immigrants, not having family all together, the beauty of modern technology, the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine, culture and experiences. Trying to find balance in things, trying to be a peacemaker, being an empathizer, realizing how when talking about empathy for innocent civilians harmed in Palestine and/or Israel there is this narrative you can only pick one side and not have empathy for those suffering on the other side. It doesn't sit well with me. I have empathy for all those suffering. We were out sightseeing October 7th the beautiful Tyr, Lebanon where Christ had walked and I loved it.. but we came home to hear the news of what Hamas did to innocent Israelis. That broke my heart. And in the weeks that have passed I've mourned for the innocent families broken, murdered, and bombed in Gaza. It's been an emotional roller coaster for me I share but also I've had many moments of peace, comfort, and taking action to my best ability. Prayer and fasting have a new meaning to me. As well as taking care of my physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental health. Love, hope, and kindness is really the key to happiness, finding peace, and sharing it. I hope you are well, I hope you don't feel alone, and I hope this episode isn't too shabby.

    Sending love,
    Tori

  • Episode 15: Working on a Cruise Ship & Working as an Industrial Hygienist
    2023/04/04

Thanks for joining me once again! Wishing you the best! I thought it would be neat to talk on what may interest others in the field of consultant work, working on a cruise ship, how we wonder how things are made, working in manufacturing plants like the Ford F150 plant, Harley Davidson, Mass Production food plants, etc. These were just some of my experiences working as an "Industrial Hygiene Consultant" aka an EHS(Environmental, Health, and Safety) specialist. I did this for nearly three years after getting one of my Bachelor's Degrees in Public Health Industrial Hygiene and pursued it as my career post graduation. This is why we moved from Utah to Houston. This is what allowed me to travel several times a month for work. This is what brought me the opportunity to head for Japan for the first time and work on the Diamond Princess and three other ships. I feel so thankful and wanted to share some experiences.
I also wanted to speak on safety tips and information I wish people knew. How crucial it is to know your rights! That your work space should be safe for your health whether it be an office, working outside, or with machinery. Please check out OSHA's websites if you have any concerns or want to just know what regulations are out there.

I'm here for you if you have any questions or concerns!
Would love to have a guest speaking on this more in the future too!
Let me know what you "wonder" about!

  • Episode 14: Autoimmune Diseases & More with Dr. E
    2023/02/17

Thank you for tuning in! I'm thankful to have guest Dr. Efrat LaMandre on my podcast to briefly discuss autoimmune diseases and how the root cause of how symptoms we  experience and physical ailments aren't all in our head. There are life style changes that can be made (paired with modern medicine) that can truly help you feel better. This is what she has dedicated her life to, she helps so many people at her practice in State Island and online. She has The Knew Method podcast, her website theknewmethod.com, and social pages @theknewmethod.
Her book "It's NOT in Your Head: Your Body Doesn't Feel Right But You Don't Know Why," is available on Amazon and kindle as well.

We discussed in this episode a few autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's (hypothyroidism),  PCOS, etc. and how they have direct correlations to how we live our lives and what we are eating. I really enjoyed the discussion we had and this is great knowledge for anyone to know; even if you are in yours 20s and 30s to put in perspective health and life style choices. She's got so much knowledge as a Nurse Practitioner and with her PhD in Integrative Medicine, we could have covered so much more but this was a pleasure to have her on sharing her expertise and putting Integrative Medicine on our radar! If a consultation is desired you can check out her website to see if this could be beneficial for you.
Thanks again for joining me! Please reach out if you have any questions or topic suggestions!

    With love, Victoria

  • Episode 13 - Travel Tips (Our European Trip Recap) and Cheers to 2023!
    2023/01/17

Hello again and Happy New Year! It's been so long! Thank you for joining me!
It's good to be back and the goal is to focus more on the podcast this year!

Wanted to wish everyone a wonderful 2023! Cheers to new memories and experiences! We spent most the holiday season in Europe (France, Denmark, and Norway) and Utah to visit family. It was incredible to be back in Europe. I realized during my podcast this was my 4th time back in Paris/Europe and I'm so thankful we could go and for all the memories I've had.

I wanted to share my tips, mistakes I've made going to Europe, and the experiences we have had. I could have said so much more. I tried to keep the episode short but with giving tips and sharing events/experiences, it definitely ended up being a good length of an episode! I'm not perfect, I have so much more I could have said. I spin off on some other random thoughts and experiences. But overall I gave the best summary I could. Shared as much information/tips. If you have any questions though reach out for sure! I'm always happy to help with travel questions! If you have any suggestions too, I love learning from others and hope to go back to Paris, Copenhagen, and Oslo again so I hope to see even more!

    Thanks for listening!

  • Episode 12: Social Media Talk (Pros, Cons, and Utilization)
    2022/10/10

Hello and welcome back! It's been too long and let me say y'all I wanted to keep this short and sweet. But I merged two topics. Pros and Cons of social media and my story of how I got started and what I'm doing digital creating. I also shared an update with what's going on in life. I'm feeling more comfortable on the mic but also hope to get even better. We covered a lot!

The negatives (comparison, mindlessness, effects on mental health, bullying, etc)
The positives (making money on social media, networking, friendships, journaling, learning/entertainment) I shared ways people build a following, ways people make money, and some general guidance and tips. Forgot that "giveaways" are a big way to grow too sometimes. But hey if you'd like more in depth info we can definitely have a guest on sharing even more details on how they make a full time income on social media. Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions, comments, etc. I love to hear from you.  I could have expanded on a lot more, felt I overshared in some areas and undershared in others but I am being as real as I can be. Appreciate you tuning in seriously! Thank you!

  • Episode 11: Miscarriage and NICU experiences with Katelin Walker
    2022/09/03

Hello and welcome back! On this episode I wanted to have a discussion and really provide a safe space to talk about miscarriage and having newborns go into the NICU as soon as they are born. These were major trials for Katelin (today's guest) and also are for many women out there. Various websites share that statistics say 1 in 5 or 1 in 4 women will experience miscarriage. It should be talked about and we should support one another best we can. Also, for mother's who have their babies in the NICU, often they have no clue what to expect. I wanted my dear friend Katelin Walker to honestly and openly share her experiences. We hope we answered questions around these experiences and discussed them well, but as always please email or message me if you have any more questions or topics requested.

If you are going through these experiences alone, please know that you aren't alone. Katelin has offered to be contacted if you'd like someone to talk to. You can reach out my podcast Instagram page or email to contact her or me.

  • Episode 10 with April Werner, Masters Student in School Psychology
    2022/08/07

Welcome back and thanks again for tuning into the Wonders of Women episode 10 with April Werner.  She is currently finishing her Masters in School Psychology and has just recently completed a year long fellowship where she has learned leadership skills to advocate for individuals with autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities. I wanted to discuss with her the early signs of Autism in childhood and what the scope of a school Psychologist is. I found this so informational. I think all parents should know about what resources they have and how we can better support our students in all aspects of mental health.

I loved having April on, she is my best friend from high school and there is so many other topics we can discuss too with the life experience she has. God has definitely kept us connected closely as we both grew up in Utah and ended up here in Houston! However, for this episode we focused on what support a School Psychologist provides all schools (K-12) and focused on Autism. If you'd like to follow along and reach out to April Werner her Instagram handle is @April_eileen

Podcast page is @thewondersofwomen and email is wondersofwomenpodcast@gmail.com if you'd like to ask any more questions on these topics or for future topic suggestions. Thanks for your support!
