  • The Case of the Unabomber
    2022/08/31

Welcome back to episode 25 of the Totally Innocent Podcast!

This week we are taking a look at The Unabomber. A very strange man who left society to be one with nature, only to send literal bombs in the mail. This thinking was, in his mind, the right thing to do.. as if domestic terrorism ever got anybody anywhere, right?

    Basics of the case:

"Theodore John Kaczynski (/kəˈzɪnski/ kə-ZIN-skee; born May 22, 1942), also known as the Unabomber (/ˈjuːnəbɒmər/), is an American domestic terrorist and former mathematics professor.[3][4] He was a mathematics prodigy, but abandoned his academic career to pursue a primitive life.[5]

In 1971, Kaczynski moved to a remote cabin without electricity or running water near Lincoln, Montana, where he lived as a recluse while learning survival skills to become self-sufficient. He witnessed the destruction of the wilderness surrounding his cabin and concluded that living in nature was becoming impossible. He resolved to fight industrialization and its destruction of nature through terrorism."

  • The Case of Roe V Wade
    2022/08/24

Welcome back to the Totally Innocent Podcast! This week we are taking a look at the overturning of roe v wade and what that means for womens rights as well as the rights of the LGBTQ community as well as inter-racial marriage and even the legality of contraception.

On june 24th 2022 the supreme court overturned Roe v Wade and several red state had trigger laws in place to all but outlaw abortion in almost every way. Most red states have exceptions for saving the life of the mother, but there are a few that say non consensual conception and even saving the mothers life are still murder.

For a little context, I am a registered democrat. However I will be damned if you try to take my AR-15 away from me. I am very middle of the road on most issues. I say things in this episode that people WILL be mad at, and that is ok. At the end of the day these are MY opinions. Due to the nature of the topic there are points I almost didnt upload this episode for due to what may seem as me blatantly attacking certain groups. I do not mean to offend, I am just passionate and in the heat of the moment. well

Roe v Wade being overturned was a huge step back for womens rights, as well as progressive rights in the united states and who the hell are these old bags to tell anyone what they can or cannot do with their own bodies. I say abortion shouldnt be used as birth control.. but you know what? even if it is? it literally affects my life 0.

Lord knows those in power are pro life until the baby is born, but after that? Well, just look at the foster care system in America. You are not pro life. You are pro birth and who cares what happens to them after that.

This is a very polarizing topic and as such we try to tread light, however I do have opinions of my own so if I get a little frisky, send me an email and tell me to shut up at cancelledcultproductions@gmail.com

  • The Case of the West Memphis Three
    2022/08/17

Welcome back to episode 23 of the Totally Innocent Podcast! This week we take a look at the case of the west memphis three!

This topic is quite mixed in terms of podcasts, a lot of people seem to complain that podcasters that cover this topic are extremely bias and always end up leaning one way. There is a reason for that. The way this case was handled was terrible and showed nothing but gross incompetence. If I was around back then I would 100% say "free the west memphis three.

Fun fact, Damien Echols is who the character eddie munson from stranger things is based off of. Interestinly as well, a couple people have the last name Byers in this story, with the father of the victim being John Byers! Super cool!

The West Memphis Three are three men convicted as teenagers in 1994 of the 1993 murders of three boys in West Memphis, Arkansas, United States. Damien Echols was sentenced to death, Jessie Misskelley Jr. to life imprisonment plus two 20-year sentences, and Jason Baldwin to life imprisonment. During the trial, the prosecution asserted that the juveniles killed the children as part of a Satanic ritual.[1][2][3]

Due to the dubious nature of the evidence as well as the suspected presence of emotional bias in court, the case generated widespread controversy and was the subject of several documentaries. Celebrities and musicians held fundraisers to support efforts to free the men.[4]

In July 2007, new forensic evidence was presented. A report jointly issued by the state and the defense team stated, "Although most of the genetic material recovered from the scene was attributable to the victims of the offenses, some of it cannot be attributed to either the victims or the defendants."

  • The Case of Charles Manson
    2021/10/13

Welcome back to episode 19 of the Totally Innocent Podcast!

This week we are taking a look at the case of Charles Manson. Being the second week of the spooky season, we are picking true stories that inspired scary movies. The Manson Family and Charles Manson are the inspiration for the 2008 cult classic film, The Strangers.

I do not understand cults. But evidently some people fall in deep and the manson family is no exception to that. Charles manson used sex and drugs to program peoples minds to kill for him. Disgusting individual he was.

  • The Case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson
    2021/10/06

Welcome back to episode 18 of the Totally Innocent podcast and welcome to week 1 of the spooky season! This week we will be taking a look at the Case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, or, "the devil made me do it" case.

That's right, the case of Arne Johnson is what the movie The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is based on. Arne claims to be a victim of demonic procession in the first case in US history to use such a tale as a case for their defense. It didn't play out well with the judge.

As a fan of the conjuring universe and spooky tales in general, for the month of October we will be looking at different spooky cases. If you are listening on Spotify, vote in the poll!
