• EmPower Me Series - Drawing the Line - The Art of Setting Boundaries
    2024/05/25

Think of boundaries as your personal force fields or safety net—the invisible shields that protect your well being, energy, sanity, heart and how people treat you. They’re like the “Do Not Disturb” signs you hang on your soul’s door. But what happens when we don't have Boundaries or fail to defend what we want for ourselves?

In this Empower Me Series, I will discuss where in life you can set boundaries, the many benefits of firm boundaries and how to set Boundaries like a Guru.

Boundaries teach people how to treat us, so you can only begin to understand their importance... Come and join me in this important episode.

    Yours Truly,

This episode comes to you unfiltered from Longreach, Australia, as I share some insights from the wild west of Queensland... One thing I have realized so far on my 3000km solo road trip is who I should be falling In Love with.... It's no secret, it's ME.

When we truly love ourselves, we will never feel lonely. Self-love is without ego, it is pure and the one thing we all need to get better at.

We've all likely been told sometime that loving yourself is important, but do we really know what that means or the extent to which it can bring healing, a sense of wholeness and true happiness?

I can't stress enough how important it is to truly 'get' this message as it brings with it emotional freedom, a sense of true connection that will never leave you feeling lonely and it pours love into your heart and soul like you have never felt before...

This is one journey you will want to take sooner than later in life, both to Longreach and to your own heart!

  • Adopted - A Hospital Story - Part 4
    2023/08/01

This is the incredible story of a young 21-year-old midwifery student, Lyn Bailey, who was tasked to wisk babies away right after they were born so the mothers wouldn't see the newborn... Lyn Bailey is a mother of 4, grandmother of 8 and was a Midwife for nearly 50 years. She studied Midwifery in 1969 in St Margarets Hospital in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia.

St Margarets Hospital in those years was a teaching hospital of obstetrics and midwifery and it was also a place where unwed, pregnant, single young girls were sent from all over Australia to 'discreetly' give birth and be forced, coerced, or unlawfully forced into adopting their babies. In those days if you were a woman under the age of 21, parents or guardians could override the wishes of the woman to keep a baby and so the babies were forcibly adopted in most cases. This period of time between about 1969-1972 is known as the 'Forced Adoption Era' where nearly 10,000 babies were adopted.

Lyn shares the incredible story of her role in the hospital's birthing procedures, how she defied the rules to help the young women through their trauma and she discusses the scars this role left on her soul.

What absolutely blows my mind about this story, is Lyn was working in St Margarets Hospital when I (Janelle) was born. Lyn may have held me in her arms, it's a likelihood that I find deeply profound. I am mystified by this connection in my story. Thank you Lyn for being so brave and helping the chains of pain and hurt heal. I appreciate you and am so grateful to have shared your story.

You can find out more about Lyn's coaching business and connect with her here https://lyn-bailey.com/

Please share your story, speak up, and seek help should you find this upsetting in any way. Remember there is always someone to help.

    With love and gratitude,

    Janelle Manton

  • Adopted - My Story - Part 1
    2023/07/23

Most people have experienced feelings of not being good enough, feelings of rejection and being abandoned, but how we manage these negative feelings and lead a healthy life can be the difference between being happy or not.

Regardless of what traumatic event lead you to experience these fears (for me it's being adopted), there are consequences, and fallout that you personally experience, but sadly, those around you can suffer at the hands your of unhealed trauma as well.

One thing I am a huge advocate for is NOT 'seeping our pain onto those who didn't harm us'. We have a responsibility to be aware of what we project onto others and how we manage our emotions and reactions. Unhealed trauma can lead to all kinds of relational and personal challenges ranging from neediness, insecurities, bullying, and abuse. This is why I continuously pursue my healing around being given up, it's my role to find my strength in the story I chose to live out...

This episode is raw, it's my story and I invite you to grab a coffee and share my journey in being adopted and how to overcome feelings of abandonment and not being good enough.
