  • Deborah Halvorson - Author of "Out of the Basement"

    Deborah is herself, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. She took her experiences in recovering from this experience and became a certified co-active coach, a certified trauma-informed coach and an associate certified coach through the International Coaching Federation. Deborah is also the founder of Through the Jungle, LLC – a life-coaching business especially dedicated to helping all survivors of sexual abuse. She is coming to us from Minnesota – hopefully on a lake somewhere. Today’s discussion will focus mainly on Deborah’s amazing new book, called "Out of the Basement – Beyond Surviving Sexual Assault."   • Jeremy Indika: CSA Survivor and Advocate

    Jeremy was sexually abused for two years beginning when he was 8 years old. He now speaks publicly about his experience to break the silence that keeps this crime hidden. With his presentations in schools, a YouTube channel with over 28,000 subscribers and podcast, he is communicating this topic in a unique way. He has also founded a platform called “Something to Say” to give others the space to share their story. He won’t stop until this subject is on everyone’s table.   • Dr. Kelli Palfy - Psychologist and Author of "Men Too"

    Voices Beyond Assault presents A Conversation with Dr. Kelli Palfy.

    Dr. Palfy began her career working in adult and youth corrections. After becoming a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer, she was she assisted with the start up of the first Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, specializing in sex crimes committed against children internationally, where she also conducted undercover operations online.

    Upon retiring from the police force, Dr. Palfy went on to obtain her PHD in Counseling Psychology from the university of Alberta, and is a trained trauma therapist a private practice focused on male survivors of sexual abuse. She is the author of a number of books including: "Men Too – the unspoken truths about male sexual assault" and her upcoming series Creating Personal Safety for Children.

    Voices Beyond Assault presents A Conversation with Kenneth Rogers Jr., author of the How to Heal Your Inner Superhero series. This unique series of books uses DC Comic superhero and villain archetypes, cognitive behavior therapy, psychology, and his own autobiographical journey as a survivor to help other survivors of childhood sexual abuse heal.

    Kenneth’s series of healing books have earned 26 indie book awards. Each guide in the How to Heal Your Inner Superhero series spotlights a different path toward healing for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

    Thomas Edward was sexually abused starting at the age of 6 and continuing until he was 15. Thomas turned his pain into a passion for helping other men heal from their abuse as children by becoming a psychotherapist, life coach and friend to hundreds of men looking for help in their healing journeys.
