    2024/04/25

On today’s episode of the Soul Connection Duo Podcast, we host C-IYAT and yoga teacher, Abby Verigin! Abby has been practicing yoga for over eight years and teaching for three! Her goal is to share the benefits of this traditional healing practice with the world.

Abby first discovered yoga in high-school, however she dove deeper into the practice during her college years as a strategy to cope with the increased anxiety she experienced as a student. Throughout this episode, Abby talks about some of the ways in which yoga can help to ease anxiety, and she provides some helpful tools for us and our listeners that she has learned over the years. She even chose to focus her C-IYAT case study on anxiety and the ways in which yoga therapy can be beneficial for alleviating many of the symptoms caused by anxiety.

Focusing on alignment practices to connect the mind, body and soul for a deeper understanding of self, Abby emphasizes the importance of listening to and learning about your own body while attaining balance in life. She explains that allowing oneself to flourish is a holistic journey; all systems and parts of your body are important for real growth and reaching your highest potential. This means connecting to different dimensions of health on physical, emotional, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual and environmental levels.

Abby's vision is to spread awareness regarding the practice of yoga and how this can help people flourish in their lives. While educating her clients on physical movement patterns, she hopes to share techniques that can de-activate one’s nervous system through yoga and can easily be applied in everyday life. She knows how powerful this practice can be to take her client’s out of the overthinking, fight or flight state, and back into the restful state of the parasympathetic nervous system. Classes with Abby focus on modifying her clients' own abilities while listening to their bodies and honouring what it needs in that given moment. Abby wants to help people create a toolbox of simple ways to feel better everyday. To learn more about Abby, her classes and other offerings, please check out her website - www.howtoflourish.ca. Also find her on Instagram @howtoflourishwellness and @abbyverigin, where she shares so many goodies on wellness at every level, and so much more!
