  • Season 2 Episode 3 "Leaving Psychosis"
    2021/09/30

So what is the true meaning of love?

Is this something you have ever really considered or is love just love to you?

Of course it is "just love",  why would it be anything different?

The difference is many people don't love themselves. Especially people from there LBGTQI+ community who have some of the largest statistics relating to addiction, suicide and hatred amongst the heterosexual community.

It's the question I posed to you at the beginning of my journey discovering I'm intersex.

Discovering ones sexuality or how you choose to identify requires love. Otherwise it's a game of avoidance involving  drugs, alcohol and all other forms of addiction and self-destruction.

I should know, that's been my whole adult life, until recently.

Sex is so much more than physical. It's about connection to soul and to that of another's soul, if we so choose. If we do choose, we have the right to decide, well unfortunately that's not the case in all countries, it is however, here in Australia where I live.

If one thing the last 18 months has taught us all is change is necessary.

     How have you changed?

In this, the final season of Titanium the intersex podcast and the final episode "Leaving Psychosis" there has been a big delay.

Life is all about timing, and the time wasn't right.

You don't need to know why.

You just need to answer the question for yourself "What is the true meaning of love?" as you listen to "Leaving Psychosis".

    2021/05/02

    Living with Psychosis.

It’s been ages since the previous episode. I could say I’m sorry, but I’m not.

Listening to the final cut, I wasn’t ready for you to hear. It’s so personal and for the first time in a long time, I lost my confidence.

I listened to myself reading a journal no-one was ever supposed to hear, now about to be on a podcast.

So, here you go, this is me, Mike Carroll “Living with Psychosis” the second episode in series two.

It’s about being scared, anxious, depressed, that I now understand was me feeling I wasn’t enough, I felt I needed to be more.

I am enough and so are you, we always have been.

Living with psychosis has given me insights into the human condition, that education could never give me.

  • Season 2, Epiode 1:Entering Psychosis
    2021/03/18

Living with psychosis was the scariest and most spiritual of my life. It was also the loneliest of times. Lonely, because drugs are designed to be consumed with people, not alone, especially at the consumption level I was snorting up my nose.

Psychosis brought my deepest fears in life, to life, but only in my mind.  Slithering massive snakes; paranoia of being watched - on social media, in the street, at the supermarket; Sex parties at my home, in hidden sex rooms I couldn’t find and suspicious of any friend that had been brave enough to spend time with me.

Psychosis confused my mind so much that I lost my mind. I tried to do things and would have rooms of half-finished tasks, none completed. My mind wouldn’t allow me to focus on anything for any period of time, instead creating panic and anxiety for other things that had to be completed, among other things. At the longest without sleep, four days not seven-ten was the difference in me being able to return my mind to its former self.

This is the time that  anti-psychotic medication was necessary. I was prescribed  anti-psychotic medication that skyrocketed my weight to 144kg, currently 109kg. It turned me from an amphetamine high junkie to a month long bed ridden sleep deprived being that transformed into a calm mind, enabling repair to my mind.  I turned panic and anxiety into tiredness and sleepiness, the medication assisting greatly. I then stayed on anti-psychs for two years, then stopped taking them (please don’t stop taking psychotic medication abruptly and consult your doctor prior). I got sick of feeling like a robot without emotion.

This podcast is disturbing. On the other end of disturbing is attraction. I hope the attraction of your mind is active and prepared enough to step in to the world of psychosis.

If not, you should leave now.

  • episode 6 - endocrinology
    2021/03/05

I can’t believe I’m late for an appointment I was an hour early for.

That’s so me at the moment. The late part, not the early.

How could I have thought the location was opposite, when it was the 5th floor and there were no buildings five floors high opposite.

I call the receptionist. We’ve got a history concerning unnecessary blood test repeats, so (sarcastically) I’m so looking forward to telling her I can’t find the place.  She tells me  “Down the road, towards Punt.”.
“So is that like up or down from where I am?”.

Now sweating profusely, dripping from my bald head, I find the entrance where my temperature is taken, I explain I have been running and It’s going to be extreme.

To the lifts, only two people to a lift with 20 waiting.

I arrive and see this person whom I’ve had heated phone conversations with previously.
“Good Afternoon, I’m Michael Carroll, sorry I’m so late”.

This is the episode of waiting 30 years to ask for help and the process to have 30 years of questions answered.

    2021/02/14

LBGTQI+ people experience varying degrees of trauma, sometimes masked with addiction, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

I masked my trauma with copious amounts of alcohol, drugs and being the party king.

Always know you are never alone and suport is always just a phone call away.

  • episode 4 - janine (little bubbie)
    2021/01/08

Our first love will always hold a special part to our heart. It's through this connection that we first learn about intimacy and discover ways to make each other feel love.

The first love and intimate partner for an intersex person is massive and can make or break   future intimate relationships.

I avoided intimate encounters throughout High School and am so grateful Janine was so accepting of me and even wrote a poem ❤️.

If we were to  break down love into three parts Psychological, Emotional and Physical -
Sometimes we require the psychological love in a partner  before the emotional and ultimately the physical parts of lovemaking. Other times it's the physical love that creates the psychological and emotional connection with the other person. At different stages in Janine and my relationship the psychological, emotional and physical all played their parts at different times. It was the culmination of all three together that created the  most passionate love that helped create a sexual identity, forming part of my overall identity. It's through being intersex, that I now have another sexual identity to discover, which is now exciting compared to completely scary.

Is our identity created through our sexual experiences, or are these ever evolving, like ourselves in the evolution of us as humans?

Janine was a vital part of my sexual development as an individual. We bred love into each other at a time our lives needed it.

You were  the love of my life, and I broke your heart.
You gave me love when I had none.
You showed me love and I will always love you,
    My little bubba xxoo

    Love always,

    Michael xoxo

  • episode 3 - families
    2020/12/30

Families are said to be the centre  of our universe - not necessarily for intersex people, who can live their lives  - knowing they don't fit in, but don't know why.  It can take years to discover why we are different and for some it will take their life - either from old age or from suicide.
Being different is part of me and I'm so proud of that fact,  you have that right too.
I don't wish to be like anybody else or to fit into a society that has problems fitting in with itself.
Families should always be about adapting and welcoming differences, because that's how we create individuality. I don't have a close family and I'm not alright with that.

In understanding my true purpose in life, utilising my broadcast background, my media family, and my academic training in helping people I will help you become the person you want to be.
My gift to you is my life experiences in these podcasts in the overall aim of helping people to understand each other and creating lifelong connections.

As individuals, we have the power to challenge the existing family structure  in the overall aim of increasing the connection and love between all parties to make today better than yesterday.

    2020/12/22

Hi I'm Mike and I'm Intersex. It's a recent discovery that saw me launch a podcast telling the world in episode 1 - substance.

Getting used to being Intersex takes time to process. During that process I lost my voice, so yes it has been a long time between episodes.

What have I learnt about Intersex, between the last episode and now?

Mike talks abut the advantages of understanding both sexes, being both sexes.

    What questions do you have?

    email, message,

    Much love ❤️
