More than 2,500 years ago, Gautama the Buddha walked the earth, teaching to all who would listen. Buddhist lore has it that shortly after he passed away, his disciples met to recall all that they were able of the truths that Buddha had spoken. These sayings were compiled into The Dhammapada, an anthology of 423 verses containing the essence of his principles.

Commenting on the haunting songs of Kabir, Osho takes the listener to the very core of the human dilemma, to the simple cause of man's misery - that he thinks that he is separate from existence: his inability to comprehend why the fish in the sea is not thirsty. Siddhon ka ek mahaan sandesh, 'Jaago', Osho ki vaani dwara in pravachanon mein aur bhi adhik mukharit hua hai. Osho kehte hain: 'Jaago, man jaagran ki bela! Aur jaagran ki bela hamesha hai. Aisa koi khsan nahi jab tum jaag na sako. Aisa koi pal nahi jab tum palak na khol sako. Aankh band kiye ho yah tumhaara nirnay hai. Aankh kholna chaho to isi khsan kraanti ghat sakti hai.

Kabir par Osho samay-samay par bolte rahe hain. Keh sakte hain ki Kabir unke priy rahe hain. Kabir ke saddhukkadi vachanon ko samsamayik Osho hi bana sakte hain.

Through the verses of the New Testament Gospels, Osho brings the teachings of Jesus to life, calling him a poet. "Jesus became a great milestone in the history of consciousness. Parivaar chodna nahi hai.

Kathinayi chaahe prem ke panth ki ho ya dhyaan ke maarg ki, pandhrah pravachanon ki is prashnottar pravachanmala mein Osho ne sabhi prashnon ke atyant saral aur subodh samaadhan diye hain. Shero-shaayari aur kavitaon se bharpoor ye pravachan panth ki saari kathinaayi ko door kar ek nayi subah ki tarah hamein abhibhoot kar lete hain. Osho kehte hain: 'Main to dekhta hoon ek naya suraj, ek nayi subah, ek naya manushyaa, ek nayi prithvi - vah roj nikharti aa rahi hai.

Osho explains that these sutras are concerned with aspects of man's unawareness and that Buddha's whole message is concerned with the raising of our consciousness. These sutras were compiled by Buddha's disciples to contain the essence of all his teachings. This was the last turning of the Wheel of Dharma, 2,500 years ago. At the beginning of his commentaries on these sutras, Osho says he is setting the Wheel of Dharma in motion again.

These talks are answers to personal questions from seekers that touch on a wide variety of fundamental life issues. This is an enlightened being's profound, loving and, at times, humorous response to them. Amongst the many subjects covered, Osho speaks on parents and children, trust and surrender, love and jealousy, sex and pornography; play and creativity, desirelessness, enlightenment and the belief in God.

Not believing, but only experiencing, says Osho in this inspiring series of talks, is a way of finding truth and meaning. While Nietzsche's declaration that "God is dead, therefore man is free" was an incredible step in understanding, he argues, it is in itself a negative solution and does not bring freedom. Simply removing God is not enough. Osho is no atheist by far and not in favor of any "anti-believe" system either. "It is meditation that fulfills your inner being and takes away the vacuum that used to be filled by a great lie, God."

Political revolutions have never resulted in the changes they promised. Real change can according to Osho only come from a personal rebellion, a rebellion based on "yes" - yes to existence, yes to nature, yes to yourself. Humanity has been guided by traditions which are all life-negative - the results of endless wars, a planet in danger and a humanity losing direction are obvious results of these traditions.
