  • Creating Community with Felicia Brantner
    2022/05/19

Tune into this episode as we chat with Felicia Brantner, the co-founder of the Ask Midlothian Moms non-profit and Facebook group. We chat about the idea of building community, the history of Ask Midlothian Moms, and how it's evolved into a GIANT giving-back organization.

    More about Felicia
Felicia was born here in the RVA area and left her position with a medical malpractice law firm in Rocketts Landing to become a stay-at-home mother while her five boys (two sets of twins, plus one) were smaller. During that time, Felicia (along with a few others) helped to create and cultivate the Ask Midlothian Moms online community.

Now, Felicia dedicates herself to the community by coordinating annual drives for back to school, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, along with running the Pineapple Pantry for local women and children in need.  This group, along with the now non-profit "Midlothian Moms", is her passion project and life calling.

  • Travel Nursing w/Nicole Batey
    2022/04/21

This week we chat with Nicole Batey about her experiences as a travel nurse - a profession I didn’t know existed before 2020. Nicole shares the benefits of being this type of ‘nomad’ nurse, the shortcomings of being a black nurse in a rural hospital, and the challenges facing the nursing profession, in general. Tune in, also, as I share one of my RVA Loves in the Chester area.

    More About Nicole:
Nicole Batey is a travel nurse and online entrepreneur living in the Chester area. She juggles serving in temporary nursing positions in high-need areas throughout the state of Virginia and helps female founders, podcasters, and course creators create sizzling virtual summits that grow their businesses. • Resting Brunch Face w/Sara Woznicki
    2022/04/07

In today's episode of She Hearts RVA, I'm chatting with a new friend of mine, Sara Woznicki about an old friend of mine - brunch. I invited Sara on to chat about all things brunch, because, as a meal, it plays a different role than the traditional 3 squares a day. Brunch is more relaxed, often has a bit more of a creative twist to it (when done right), and holds space for conversation, catching up, and community - all things I love. We chat about what we love about brunch, what we'd be happy to never see again, some of the best brunch spots in Richmond AND how to DIY a brunch at home.

    More About Sara
Sara Woznicki is the co-founder of As Told Over Brunch, a Richmond-based brunch-themed blog that founded Richmond Brunch Weekend, a fundraising event that has raised over $90,000 to date for charity. She also works full-time in marketing and is currently an MBA student at VCU (but not for long -- Sara graduates in May)! While Sara moved here semi-spontaneously after college, she has called Richmond home for a decade now. What makes her stick around is the food, job opportunities, breweries, and the amazing friends and community she has built. Follow her on Instagram at @RichmondBrunch.

  • Making Bold Moves w/Taylor Templin-Viele
    2022/03/31

In this first episode, Angie brings on Taylor Templin-Viele to chat about making bold moves in our lives (at the most inopportune time). When Taylor saw a post in a neighborhood Facebook group back in 2021 about someone wanting to start a non-profit to support local young men who were in need of positive male role models, she immediately said yes. Now, as the President of L.A.U.N.C.H. for Life, she serves the young men L.A.U.N.C.H. and their families, as well as the community of mentors. Listen in as we chat through her decision to say yes, the long-term plans for the organization, and the places around Richmond that Taylor and her family love.

    About Taylor Templin-Viele
Taylor Templin-Viele is the President of L.A.U.N.C.H for Life, a nationally-certified School Psychologist, and a zealous advocate for children and families. She has been an educator for more than 15 years. In her role as President, Taylor is honored to serve the young men of L.A.U.N.C.H and their families, as well as the community of mentors. As the co-developer of L.A.U.N.C.H's group mentorship program, she provides clinical oversight, leads the Board of Directors, and supports the exceptional effort of all organization committee chairs, members, and volunteers. When not attempting to solve the world's problems, Taylor can be found exploring Richmond with her husband and three children, wiggling her toes in the sand, and staying up too late reading a good book.
